1 week later...

Today was the first day that I was able to fully stand in the shower. I still needed my husbands assistance with the sponge cleaning. But I actually enjoyed the shower finally. I was also able to put my compression garments on by myself. That was huge progress from just 2 days earlier when this wasn't possible. My tummy gets very tight (like the blueberry girl from Willy wonka) certain times of the day and is extremely uncomfortable. I'm off all my meds and injections. Everything is moving in the right direction! I'm getting my drains out tomorrow... oh thank goodness!!

Tummy tuck & lipo complete

Went in on 11/30 to surgery center at 530am. Nurses were wonderful. I had started my period two days earlier and everyone made me feel completely comfortable about it. Surgery started at 730 and ended at 1130. I stayed overnight at surgery center and my husband was allowed to stay too. Thank goodness because my first two nurses were awful. I had a wristband clearly stating no Vicodin or Percocet. Gave me Percocet and threw up 5 times. The nurse rarely checked on me and acted like I was an inconvenience. She never told me about using the breathing machine or even trying to walk. The shift changed and I then got the most caring nurses. They were on top of getting my nausea under control and getting correct pain meds. I felt safe, comfortable and well taken care of by them... my angels. I did pass out on my first attempt to walk but I'm sure it was from many factors like not holding food down and being weak etc. I ended up being totally fine dealing with pain only using Tylenol 3.
Today is Saturday and I've been at home since Thursday. I've had good and bad times such as Pain, weakness, shaking, nausea, overall not feeling good, not able to pass gas or have a bowel movement. I ended up taking 3 stool softener pills twice a day along with prune juice and milk of magnesia. None worked and I finally had my husband give me a enema... worked like magic. Everyday I'm feeling a little stronger. My first shower was not as great as I expected but mostly because of my strength and trying to get all the compression and clothing back on was a chore. Having my husband and my mom both here to help has been huge! Two people helping is so needed. Off to rest now

Pre Op appt yesterday

There was a bit of a mix up at the pre op appointment with the scheduling at the surgery center. I was very happy that Dr Leber and his staff found a surgery center alternative so that I could keep my scheduled surgery date. It was also $1000 more and Dr Leber said he would cover it so we didn't have to stress. That was very wonderful of him. Lots of information and things to do before surgery. Feeling the stress! I'm glad that Thanksgiving is going to keep me quite busy

I was very nervous waiting in the patient room with my husband. Dr Leber came in and instantly made the situation completely comfortable from then on out. We talked about my history and needs. I changed into my bra and panties and he took pictures. Very comfortable experience. We then went into his office and he detailed the procedure on how he performs the surgery and showed us patient pictures. His staff is also very down to earth and makes you feel welcome. I knew he was the one I wanted to do my procedure. Do not ever settle for a doctor based on price or pressure or convenience. This is your life... your body! Choose very wisely and take time to find THE ONE. When you find the one, you will know! I went to interview PS 8years ago and got so freaked out that I decided I didn't want this done. Some were arrogant and some made me feel like I needed so much work done that it made me feel bad about myself. It scared me. It's 2016 and I was ready to try again. When I researched and met Dr Leber I knew he was the one.
