Feeling really good and really happy- elated really!
Saw Dr Cohen for my 6 week check up. He said everything is looking great. He is happy about the outcome so far. One of my breasts is riding slightly higher than the other. He showed me a stretch I can do to encourage it to settle down a bit, or he said I can just give it time. I'm not concerned.
I was giving clearance to run, but told to take it slow and ease into it. Went for a light 5k jog the next day and felt great! No issues that I was aware of.
I can sleep in my sides again, no problem.
I do still have some numbness on the underside of my breast (between nipple and incision) Dr says I am still tight, so I am hoping that resolved as they continue to relax.
My incisions are super tiny (and looking good)! How did he do it?
Dr Cohen said my breasts will continue to change and settle and "fluff" out more. He told me to give them a few more months as they are still changing. I love them as they are, and can't imagine them looking any better!
Again, I got Sientra 310cc textured anatomical moderate profile. I am upper happy we did not go any smaller! I was terrified of being too big, but man I would have been bummed if I had insisted on going under 300 (thanks Dr Cohen for discouraging that!) Could I have gone with 350cc? Maybe. But I LOVE the 310s on me and I am very, very happy! Just what I was hoping for...or better!
Definitely worth it. I'm with the others on this one: wish I had done it sooner!

They look amazing!

Thank you! I LOVE them. It's amazing how much they have changed in the last 7 weeks...and they keep getting better.
I forgot to mention, Dr Cohen had to lower my fold (I saw in your profile that your Dr wants to do the same). Dr Cohen said that if he did not lower the fold, the implants would be high up in my chest and look very unnatural and disproportionate. My understanding is that implants are often fuller than real breast tissue and not as soft, so placement is very important, hence the lowering of the fold on some of us in order to get a natural and aesthetic result. Hope that helps!

I jus got round sientra’s. I hate them. I love how squishy they are but i have major rippling esp when I lay on my side. Are yours squishy, do they squish together when you lie on side or just stay in shape? My ps wants to change out to anatomicals but I’m nervous they will seem really hard. Any info would be great. I’m very thin and have nursed 4 kids.

Aww, sorry to hear that you hate your round Sientra's. How long have you had them for?
At this point, I am 7 weeks post-op, so not fully healed. At my 6 week check up, my doctor said that I was still pretty tight and there was a lot of settling and "fluffing" out for them to do. He told me that they will change a lot in the next few months. Though, I would like to note that they seem to get softer every day which is fun to observe. I know as whole, anatomical textured implants are supposed to be a bit firmer, but I do not know how to make comparisons as I have no personal experience with other types of implants. Personally, I am very active and don't mind having something a little more stable that doesn't bounce around when I run and exercise.
I just started lying on my sides at 6.5 weeks, and I have noticed that the implants are starting to soften and squish together more. Even when I wear a tight sports bra, I feel like my breasts are starting to squish and give me better cleavage then I had a couple weeks ago.
Ultimately, I think it is hard for me to say how soft and squishy they will be when I am fully healed- I have never had substantial breast tissue before so I do not know what it "naturally" feels like, and I still have a lot of healing to do. I am unsure of the final outcome concerning softness, but I love them at this point regardless!
Hope that helps !

Happy for you. Did your surgeon place implant under your muscle? If so how has that impacted your activities, sports, swimming etc.

Yes, they are under the muscle. I started working out at the gym (the elliptical machine and stationary bike) at 4 weeks. I also did some leg machines. I waited until my 6 week check up to get cleared for upper body and for high impact. I was told I could do triceps/biceps/etc, but to avoid push ups, bench press, (chest) etc. I was told that I could start easing into high impact workouts like running...but just to take it slow and listen to my body. I went for a trail run the next day, but took it easy and only did a 5k. I had no issues during the run, and the next day I was not sore...so I ran 4 miles the next day. So far so good! I do climb too, but haven't started that yet. I think I will wait another month to start climbing again. I haven't tried swimming. I had full range of (arm) motion within a day or two of surgery, so by 7/8 weeks I imagine it would be okay? I didn't ask my Dr about swimming because I don't swim...climbing, mountain biking, and trail running are my main activities. Hope that helps!

Oh and yoga has been good so far. Not doing anything crazy, but the stretching feels good, and downward dog and planks have given me no issues

That is so good to hear!

I really like our results. They told me it will cost from $9,800-$11,000 or first time augmentation when I just called. I’m so shocked about how the pricing goes!
February 11, 2018
I remember they told me it would be something over $7k - $8k (I only called a few weeks ago) but when I sent in my photos, it ended up being $9k for anatomicals!
February 12, 2018
I can’t believe it. 9k is not in the price range they gave you! feels like they just give prices randomly! I checked my email again, it’s $9,800-$1,300. That price range includes the anesthesia, implants, facility, surgical bra, and surgeon's fees. how much was yours in total for? i’m definitely not flying there!

my bad I meant $10,300*

Sientra brand implants are expensive. They have an excellent warranty program and very low CC rates compared to other brands. Anatomical implants are more expensive than smooth round, so given that Dr Cohen uses Sientra Anatomicals, they are going to be pricier. It sounds like they originally quoted you smooth round then after seeing your photos decided anatomicals would be best (I think anatomicals are around 2k more than smooth round).

I paid $8,495 for my anatomicals, but that price was quoted to me in 2016 when I was originally going to have my surgery. I ended up having the surgery a year later, and they honored the same quote. I wouldn't be surprised if Dr Cohen's prices have gone up, though. He is a high demand doctor with 2 locations and an excellent reputation.
Anatomical implants are pricier (by 2k?) than smooth round, so that is something that can result in the wide price range- not knowing if you need the less expensive smooth round or the most expensive textured anatamicals. If you are remote, Dr Cohen can look at photos via email and have an idea of what kind of implant he will want to use, but its really not until you have an in-person consultation or pre-op appointment with him that he can really know what is best for you. Hope that helps!

Oh, and something cool that Dr Cohen does is when you have a procedure done with him, he helps provide funding and resources for underprivileged communities who would otherwise not have access to skilled medical care. My procedure helped Romeo T. in the Philippines get vision-restoring cataract surgery! :) Pretty cool Dr Cohen!

That humanitarian program also helps individuals with cleft palates, club feet, etc. It's kinda cool to know that you could be (indirectly) helping someone see, walk, or smile <3

thanks for taking the time to respond. I requested for a consultation online by filling out the contact us forum asking or a price quote on silicone natrelle inspira implant. Someone responded via e-mail. I also talked to her over the phone. Thats the price range she gave me, not specifically talking about any type of implant. I didn’t know anything about sientra, but I know I do not want anatomical.

Are you back to climbing yet?

I have been running, biking, and working out, but not climbing yet... for no reason other than I have been really into my other activities. I plan to start climbing again in the winter, though.

Feeling great! Started working out at gym 4.5 weeks post. Doing elliptical, bike, stairs, and lower body workouts. Feels great to get heart rate up again. No problems with getting back into exercising!
Breasts are softening and relaxing by the day. Able to cut through sweet potatoes and butternut squash now! Sneezing hardly hurts anymore.
Started yoga too. Feeling really good and happy!

Feeling great! Wanting to exercise, but just sticking to long walks and light stretching.
Easy, uneventful recovery thus far.
Again, Textured anatomical implants, so super low maintenance! Just letting them do their thing.
