Hi guys! This website has helped me a ton...

Hi guys! This website has helped me a ton throughout my recovery so i figured I would help out any ladies who are looking into getting a BBL.Officially a little over 6 weeks out from my brazilian butt lift with Dr Shapiro and i am IN LOVE with my new shape! I had been wanting this procedure for a long time as my stomach and butt were 2 major problem areas for me. I seriously had a pancake butt. I am NOT one of those girls who already started off with somewhat of a butt. I had none of that. I have had personal trainers and dietitians and i could not for the life of me get my stubborn belly to budge( I think it's genetic as my mom has the same problem and she is crazy about working out.) I finally decided to go the surgical route when I read some surgeon on here who said that he can "achieve in 2 hours what can not be achieved by a lifetime in the gym."
I was super nervous going into my initial consultation but as soon as I met Dr Shapiro i knew he was the one. I didn't even visit with the other surgeons I had planned to speak with. He was very polite and professional and made me feel really comfortable. I didn't feel rushed at all during the consultation and I really appreciated how he took the time to answer all my questions.
The day of my surgery I was insanely nervous. The only procedure I had ever had was wisdom teeth removal. I was literally shaking in the car on the way there lol. When I got to Paradise Valley Surgery Center I was brought back to take a pregnancy test, get changed, fill out some paper work, and meet with the anesthesiologist. Dr Shapiro came back soon after and started doing his markings. I went to the surgery room and one thing I noticed was how clean/sterile it was( as it should be.) I have read horror stories about people going to cheap surgery places in tijuana or the dominican republic and seeing blood and all this gross stuff on the floor. All i remember was laying down and getting a needle thing into my finger. I don't remember much after surgery or even getting home. All I know was apparently I threw up everywhere and my friends had to take care of me because my parents weren't supportive of my decision to have surgery.
I slept a lot the first week but after that I started to get bored of being at the house. I honestly think the isolation I felt was worse than the pain/soreness. I had a couple days of pain but for the most part I was just sore. Most of the pain I did feel was directly related to the liposuction. He took out almost 9 pounds of fat from my stomach, flanks, and back! I was not expecting to not feel pain in my butt. So that was a pleasant surprise.
Some people complain about their garments making them uncomfortable but for me my garment was perfect! It hasn't bothered me at all and I am still wearing it even though I don't have to anymore. I like the way it shapes me in clothes. I would definitely recommend having someone there with you for the first week or so just helping you with your medication/showering.
I think the absolute worst part of this procedure was not being able to sit or sleep on your back. You really really need to plan for that. I didn't realize how bad it actually was until I was going through it. You don't notice how much you sit until you can't anymore. I was very strict about not sitting up until about 17 days post op( had to return to school for my first day of freshman year!) I just started sleeping on my back this past Sunday which was 1 day before my 6 week mark. If you are going to go through with the surgery and pay the money then you definitely want your results to last. The annoyance of not sitting was definitely worth it. For anyone who has a job/school, I would say you should take off 2 1/2 weeks probably. I have seen some surgeons say you will be recovered in one week and I honestly could not imagine going to school at 1 week post op. I would say that time period was the worst part of my recovery. By 4 weeks I started feeling normal again and now at 6 weeks I feel almost back to normal! The only thing left is a little swelling in my lower abdomen( I met with Dr Shapiro today and he told me to wait a couple months for that to go away) and some numbness. A lot of my sensation has come back though so i'm happy about that.
I didn't experience any complications besides a small seroma in my lower stomach. The office staff is great and helped me get in within 1-2 days. One thing I love about the office is that Megan always calls the day before the appointment to remind you. Anne aspirated me a couple times and she is the best!! She kept me calm and talked me through it. It really wasn't painful or a big deal but i'm just scared of needles. Another thing that is awesome about the office is that none of the girls who work there are snooty at all. I kinda expected that they would be before ever going to the office just because some places are like that. Everyone there is so warm and welcoming and whenever I walk in they always make a point to ask me how I am doing and feeling.
As for my results I am so so happy I chose to have the procedure done by Dr Shapiro. He completely transformed my body. My stomach is beyond flat and my back is smooth with zero bra fat rolls! My butt is perky and bubbly and I love what he did in my upper butt( it seems higher up to me.) I definitely have more of an hour glass shape now. If I could do anything over I would have asked him to fill in my hip dips( but that's on me, i never even mentioned it to him.) I have been getting a ton of compliments on my shape and someone even told me it looks like I work out. I told Dr Shapiro that today and he laughed LOL. If only the guy who told me that knew !! I believe I got 9ish pounds removed and about 800(?) cc injected into my butt. One of the reasons I chose to go with Dr Shapiro is his ability to provide natural results that are basically you but better. I did not want any of that shelf booty going on that some ladies in Miami get. I was never really big to begin with so I feel if I had something super super dramatic like that it would look obviously unnatural.
Overall I am very satisfied and would recommend Dr Shapiro to anyone looking to get a BBL! I am going to include some pictures if I can find any on my phone. I honestly haven't taken a lot of photos but I will see what I can come up with. I don't have many befores really because i avoided having my body in photos. Not anymore !! I will definitely update in 2 months when I get my before/after photos! :) oh yeah and sorry for how rambly I am in this review haha
