During my adult journey, I have experienced a great amount of stress on my body. I gained and lost 100 pounds and have had three cesarean deliveries. As a result, my personal self-confidence was very poor. Due to the large weight loss, I had an abundance of skin hanging over the pubic area causing rashes and infections. After getting little relief with steroids and other alternatives, I was adamant about having the extra skin and fat removed. I began researching and meeting with a few plastic surgeons but did not encounter an experience of bond with any of them. Leaving their offices, I never felt like an individual but another number or dollar sign. I continued on my journey to find what I now refer to as the “ideal surgeon”. After hearing a testimony on a Facebook Forum about Dr. Kerekes attention to detail and bedside manner, I scheduled myself a consultation. Quickly after Dr. Kerekes consultation, I realized she was the surgeon for me. 4 months post operation and I have never felt better. My abdomen is so flat. I had to get new clothes went from a 12/14 to an 8. I was very self conscious and didn’t allow my skin to hang over but only under the pants - which is why I may have went down more sizes than others. I’ve lost 30 pounds all together, I guess fat really does weigh a lot and does hold water in the fat cells more. My incision is healing great! My belly button had grown a keloid so I am starting steroid for that. This is not a complication just how my body has healed with the incision. Everyone heals and scars differently. Started on silicone strips which insurance paid for with a prescription. I am already noticing with the strips my incision looking less red.

Dr.Kerekes has moved to South Carolina but I plan to visit her there. I’ve been saving up for breast lift and augmentation as well as the back skin fold removal. I cried on my way home from last appointment because she’s moving and I don’t want to see any other plastic surgeon so my husband has agreed we will go to SC.

Recovery

Recovery has been smooth. The pain was very present strongly day 1 to 3. But after that was very manageable. The pain was more specifically from the lipo. I had 2 drains that produced a light stinging feeling but never a painful feeling. I wore and continue to wear my compression garments all day, everyday which I believe has helped tremendously with swelling. Currently my left hip and pubic area is where the majority of swelling is.
