Abdominoplasty with Muscle Repair and Flank Lipo

I previously lost 100 pounds and was left with an abundance of skin. The skin folds caused a lot of irritation and loss of self esteem. Dr. K’s office is the most welcoming office and Dr. K is hilarious!

Recovery has been smooth. The pain was very present strongly day 1 to 3. But after that was very manageable. The pain was more specifically from the lipo. I had 2 drains that produced a light stinging feeling but never a painful feeling. I wore and continue to wear my compression garments all day, everyday which I believe has helped tremendously with swelling. Currently my left hip and pubic area is where the majority of swelling is.

4 months post operation and I have never felt better. My abdomen is so flat. I had to get new clothes went from a 12/14 to an 8. I was very self conscious and didn’t allow my skin to hang over but only under the pants - which is why I may have went down more sizes than others. I’ve lost 30 pounds all together, I guess fat really does weigh a lot and does hold water in the fat cells more. My incision is healing great! My belly button had grown a keloid so I am starting steroid for that. This is not a complication just how my body has healed with the incision. Everyone heals and scars differently. Started on silicone strips which insurance paid for with a prescription. I am already noticing with the strips my incision looking less red.

Dr.Kerekes has moved to South Carolina but I plan to visit her there. I’ve been saving up for breast lift and augmentation as well as the back skin fold removal. I cried on my way home from last appointment because she’s moving and I don’t want to see any other plastic surgeon so my husband has agreed we will go to SC.
