WORTH IT$9,500
12/3/11. Now I'm experiencing swell hell. I got drains out at 11 and 14 days postop and almost wish they were back in! The swelling is driving me insane. I'm also having some issues with my bellybutton not healing well. I'm supposed to get stitches out on Wed but there are large parts that seem like open meat so we'll see. Overall I'm glad I did it and would do it again but can't wait until I can feel normal. I'm not a patient person.

11-20 so tonight I finally felt up to taking bathing suit pics and put on a two piece I bought a few yrs ago and never had the guts to wear. Surprise! The bottoms were way huge and I had to fold them down for the pics. When I saw the pics I had tears in my eyes bc I realized I seriously may be able to wear a two piece to the beach this year! This has been a long eighteen months of going to the gym and working hard for my weight loss, fighting the insurance company for six months to get help paying bc this would not happen if I had to pay it all, and finally getting this surgery. I am so excited about howi look....trying not to be vain or obsessed but I'm so very happy! Almost no pain at this point. Muscle soreness and getting tired easily is about it. So glad I did this!

colwall42, here are my instructions on adding photos to your RealSelf profile. I'm not the best with computers, but I learned how to add a photo, so here goes:
(1) Click on your name (it's in blue). That will take you to your page where you've written some entries about your tt.
(2) Find the word "UPDATE" in yellow, and click that. That will take you to an area where you can add written updates and add photos. The photo area is way at the bottom, so scroll.
(3) Once you are in the photo area, find the word, "BROWSE" and click on that. That will take you to your own computer's picture area, where you keep your pictures. Look through your pictures, find the one you want to post, and click on it. Then click on "OPEN"
(4) Once you click on "OPEN" that will 'fill' the browse area with the location of the photo that you selected.
(5) Find the words, "SUBMIT UPDATE" which will be in yellow, and click that. Give it some time, and your photo will be uploaded to RealSelf for us to look at.
I can't wait to see it!

Crissy, wow, what a difference! The P.S. sure changed your figure! You're still healing but the difference is like day from night! Did the P.S. do a muscle repair, by the way?
November 21, 2011
Yes he did the diasasis repair as well as two hernia repairs...not sure what the difference is bc I think they have to pull the fascia together for both, but either way I am feeling much stronger in my core. I actually feel my muscles working now when I sit or stand ....will be interesting to see what happens when I get back to the gym.

So I'm five days post op and can say that my PS was very wrong when he said this was less painful than a csection. I would have to say its worse, or else I recovered much quicker than normal csection patients. Maybe bc I'm older now I'm not recovering as quick as I did then but whew! Starting tues night I had some pretty intense discomfort, and was mostly miserable through wednesday with some brief bits of relief. By Thurs I was ok and today, day five, I'm feeling pretty good. The more I get up and move the better I feel, and the more I look at my flat( although swollen) belly the better I feel. I have some bruised and sore pain in the lipo areas and general muscle soreness in my belly area but the rolls are GONE! I'm swollen more today than any other, but still smaller than I was. Will post pics when l take more. Still worth it even with the pain being more than I thought.

Hang in there Colwall... The second and third day are the worst then you start feeling way better pretty quickly. Ask your doc for phenergan or something for nausea if you're still sick. My anesthesiologist gave me some anti vert before surgery and I had very little nausea.

Thanks Crissy, They did give me a patch to put behind my ear and a tablet to disolve on my tongue if the patch didnt help. Unfortunatley neither helped much, but all that passed. I can finally eat, I am just taiking it very slow.
Today is 4 days post op and Im feeling pretty good. Cannot believe this is my tummy when I look at it!
