I am 39 and as my 40th bday to myself I thought it was time i get a tummy tuck that i have wanted for years. I have always been thin but after having kids my tummy was stretched out and flabby. I decided that I did not want to wear spanx every time i wore a dress and that it was time!
Day 1: Surgery Day
My surgery was on Aug 3 and everything went well. The staff and surgeon were amazing. I arrived at 7 qam, surgery at 8 am and home by noon. I woke up feeling very shaky (side effect of anesthesia) and my stomach muscles were very tight. It was tough but not horrible. I got home and spent most of the day sleeping. Had to walk hunched over for the most part. I was taking my oxy and valium every 6 hours. I slept well that night from 11 pm to 5:30 am.
My diet was ok.. had 2 pieces of toast and a fruit/veggie smoothie. I think keeping the diet light and natural helps.

Day 2.
Been feeling good so far. I even went to the bathroom on my own. I have to keep the compression garment on at all times and in hooking the bottom to go pee can be tricky but i have gotten the hang of it. Thank god for my husband as he has been helping with everything.Again spent most of the day in and out of sleep watching lots of netflix.

Day 3:
Didnt sleep as well at night. The tubes out of me are annoying me. I have 2 drains and a pain pump and i feel them tug at my skin which hurts. Again just another day of laying around, watching tv and reading books.

Day 4:
Slept from 11 pm to 4 am. Been scaling back on pain meds and taking them every 8 hours.Lower back pain is difficult. I took my first shower which felt so rejuvenating. Haven't taken any pain meds since 7 am today and feeling pretty energetic .I have been walking around the houseand mostly walking straight. I did look at myself for the first time when i showered. The skin looks amazing.. super tight and smooth and all that crepey stretch mark skin is gone! I wish i could look at my tummy and see it flat and svelte but its swollen so feels a little underwhelming. Although I know it will eventually look amazing. Still no bowel movement yet and did notice some leakage out of the drain area. So I am going to stop moving so much and just lay around. seeing the doc tomorrow fr the first time so excited for some of these drains to be out. Took pain meds after 15 hours so def tapering down

Day 5
saw the doc and he removed one drain and the pain pump. I feel so much better. He kept one drain in and thinks it can come out in 2 days. He removed the tape around my belly button and was pleased with how it looked - although it did look freaky to me which i guess is expected..i went home and finally had a bowel movement! whew.. what a relief..

I guess results will continue to improve over the next few weeks.. i am happy with the skin.. just waiting for the swelling to go away so i can finally see what i look like.
