As a petite young professional, I don't think...

As a petite young professional, I don't think anyone ever noticed how much I sweat (or stank) in stressful work situations. But at presentations big or small, interviews, performance reviews, even the occasional conference call, I could feel my armpits turning into a wet mess. I've tried all the antiperspirants and deodorants out there - natural, clinical strength, prescriptions, even homemade remedies - and nothing was good enough. I looked into botox, but that seemed like too much trouble and too much money in the long run.

Enter Miradry. I came across it during one of my stress-sweat induced research sessions, and when I read more about it, I wondered where it had been all my adult life. I found a plastic surgeon's office near work that offered it and got myself an appointment ASAP.

Here's how it went: checked myself in at the front desk - cute little office, awesome spread of candy jars to sample while you're filling out a few pages of paperwork. I met Dr. Weintraub, who was so nice and was able to answer all of my questions about what was going to happen. She was so reassuring, especially after finding out that she had the procedure done, too!

The procedure itself was not bad at all - but I think the key here is finding an office where the doctor does the numbing injections - 47 needlesticks into each armpit would be a total dealbreaker for me. With Dr. Weintraub's very gentle touch, I barely felt 2 tiny little pokes in each armpit - after that, the rest of the numbing fluid went in with me hardly noticing. After my underarms were good and numb, her medical assistant, Gigi, applied the Miradry device up and down this grid temporarily tattooed on my skin. Because of the awesome numbing, I literally did not feel a thing as Gigi zapped away my sweat and odor glands forever.

After we were done, I went home with some instructions to ice my armpits and take Advil. I felt pretty numb in the underarms through the evening, but things did feel a little achy that night - nothing that kept me from sleeping well. I think the toughest part of the recovery so far has been the strange sensation of being swollen in the armpits - they feel sort of enormous, but if you look in the mirror it's really not noticeable.

So a little swelling, not much bruising, no real pain - I am a thoroughly satisfied customer. I haven't applied antiperspirant in 2 weeks, and it has been FABULOUS. At work, my armpits feel amazingly dry - if someone asks me a question, I don't drench my clothes anymore. Even after working out, my underarms are 99% dry and 98% odorless, which is a miracle.

I am so happy I found Miradry. Thank you Gigi and Dr. W at Duet Plastic Surgery, for changing my life.

Dr. Weintraub has such a warm bedside manner, and she was able to put me at ease before, during, and after my procedure. Big props to her assistant, Gigi, too for being completely lovely and professional despite having to stare at my armpits for 45 minutes.
