4 years later - still no regrets

Hello everyone, it’s been a while. Thought I’d post an update since it’s so rare for people to post after 2 years and I'm always new curious how you ladies are doing. My scar is slowly fading and the scar tissue is slowly flattening too. Lots has happened in the last 4 years. I broke up with my bf, left my job, took a 10 month break and went back to work last year at new company. I’m angry/sad about our current administration and hope we don’t kill this planet any faster. I’ve been doing well otherwise - happy, healthy and blessed with twin grandkids.

What'new/What's the same

What's New/Different at 2 years post op:
1. I’m not as obsessed with the mirror.
2. Gained back all the weight I lost (~10lbs) – so the downside of a flat tummy, you don’t notice the weight gain until it’s too late!!!
3. Fell off the exercise bandwagon ? only exercise I get is walking the dog these days.
4. Thinking of lipo and scar revision still
5. Also thinking about facelift…I’m thinking sometime in the next 2-5 years
6. Feeling a bit better about my slitty BB after the cortisone shots to soften the scar which made it less slitty.

What’s the same:
1. Same areas of numbness
2. Still have that tight/muscle contracted feeling – doc says it will go away…eventually ;)
3. Scar looks great on the sides but still hypertrophic in the middle
4. Still vain and thinking about more procedures heehee
5. Planning to go an a diet (yes I plan this every December-this never changes)
6. Miss my RS buddies – I still wish we could all meet and have a party with a show and tell program
7. Still happy overall I did this – no regrets

My doc is awesome! So far have had 2 consults with him and he spent over an hour each time because I had so many questions. I've also emailed him so many times with more questions. He was very patient and candid with all his answers and it was clear his years of experience is the reason why he is known as one of the nation's top surgeons. His office is about 2 minutes away from Stanford hospital, he frequently teaches the med students, he has written several research journals on the topic, etc... Anyway you get my drift. I selected my PS based on reputation and meeting him and talking to him so far has helped my anxiety levels quite a bit. I was having a lot of anxiety about general anesthesia and the length of time I will be under so he asked his anesthesiologist to give me a call! I spoke with Dr. Bruce Halperin and he is also awesome. He's been with Stanford hospital since 1980s and is the anesthesiologist on call by special request everytime a president comes to the area. He was very patient and candid with me and when I asked him what he thought of Dr. Commons, he said let me just tell you this, when my mother needed an operation, he sent her to Dr. Commons (she was 70 at the time) . I can't think of a better recommendation than that.
