Fixing Unusual Belly Button (Extra Skin) - Palo Alto, CA

My umbilicoplasty was totally worth it given that I had been self conscious about my belly button for years. The plan was to remove the extra skin and create a more normal appearance. Dr. Lim did the procedure using local anesthesia in the office. I didn't have any pain after the injections to numb the area (I did feel pulling and pressure but no pain). It took 4 weeks to really see the final result - there was swelling in the area so my belly button tissue appeared a little puffy for awhile. I took ibuprofen the first two days as I sleep on my stomach but I didn't require any other meds (there was pain when the area was touched or stretched). I refrained from working out strenuously but walking was no problem. Overall, I'm very happy with the result.
