Hi all! My name is Jenna and I'm 26 yrs old. I live in the High Desert area of Southern California, near Palm Springs.

I have two beautiful children, ages four and two. I had very heavy pregnancies. With my first, I gained about 65 lbs. on my 5'7" frame. I never completely lost all of the baby weight when I got pregnant with my second child. I still carried about 20 lbs. and I still managed to gain about 45 lbs. during the pregnancy. After that pregnancy I kept on an additional 10 lbs. on top of the 20 from the first pregnancy. So pre-baby I was 150lbs. and afterwards I was left weiging 185lbs! I was depressed and uncomfortable.

In Aug. 2011 I decided to join Weight Watchers and I worked my butt off to get healthy again! In eight months I had lost 40 lbs! I was actually lighter than before I had babies! But I was left with saggy loose skin. It was such a let down to know I had worked so hard and I couldn't even be proud of my new body!

In early 2012 I made the decision to look into Cosmetic Surgery to restore my pre-baby body. I was just way too young and I had worked way too hard to have to settle! I found Dr. Mohammed Zakhireh (Dr. Mo) at the Cosmetic Surgery Institure of Palm Desert. http://www.csipd.com/

My surgery consisted of a tummy tuck, breast augmentation and liposculture of my back, flanks, hips and thighs. A Mommy Makeover....how appropriate! I had it done last Thursday (Aug. 30, 2012) so I am now 4 days post op. The recovery has been ROUGH! The first two days I barely got out of bed. I had a catheter in so I least I really had no reason to. I have a full compression garment on, covering from my knees to my shoulders. It's very tight! The tummy tuck incision is extremely low....I'm very happy with it's placement. I know I'll easily be able to cover it. I have two drains which are pretty annoying. Firstly, they are gross and secondly they are so inconvenient. They don't really hurt with the exception of an occasional burning from where they are inserted into the incision. My breasts are a piece of cake. The incisions are located just underneath, where they naturally fold. It's only about an inch and a half and aside from the pressure I feel on my chest, they are really painless. The liposculture though.....ugh. So painful. I never thought that would be my biggest complaint but holy cow! Maybe it's because I had it done all over my entire hip/butt area (which is what I've been laying on since surgery) but I just never imagined this. It's so hard to get up/down because I'm constantly feeling stabbing/burning pains from each small incision point.

Each day has gotten better and better! Last night I was able to go downstairs and help my husband with dinner. I'm able to walk around, go to the bathroom by myself. I'm still taking Vicodin every six hours but I'm reduced the dosage from two pills to one pill. The swelling is still very bad. My waist looks really thick and my breast are extremely hard! They go all the way up to my collar bone! I know swelling is normal so I'm expecting it to go way down in the next couple weeks.

I have to go to class tomorrow to take an exam. It's a three hour class but I'm just going to go in for the test and leave. I normally have three classes during the week, but that's the only one I'll be going to this week. I'll start up again full time next week.

My next post op appointment with Dr. Mo should be in a couple days (still have to schedule it). I'm excited to get one of the drains removed....wish it was both!

I'll update more after the appointment!

Had a follow up appointment yesterday (6 days post op) and had one drain removed. Didn't even feel it! And I was so scared! Dr said everything looked great....healing well....I go back on Monday to get the other drain removed. As of this morning, I'm one pound under my pre surgery weight! Something I'm REALLY excited about? Dr. Mo said I could realistically expect to lose about 10 more pounds. Ummmm, yeah! I'll take it!

Last night I was really curious to see how some of my normal clothes fit since surgery. I tried on my shorts and a tank without my compression garment amd holy moly!! Even with all the swelling, they are LOOSE! Well, not the tank! My boobs are still up by my chin but the rest.....I was just so thrilled. I was then motivated to try on a bikini! It was a super old one...haven't worn it since before kids but I was feeling confident. I gotta say....I never in a million years thought I'd ever wear a bikini again, even after my TT. I stand corrected. Looks like I'm going swim suit shopping! I didn't think I looked that bad! My belly still bothers me some...I don't know if it's swelling or if it's just me....It's just a little looser than I'd like. But still....a VAST improvement! I'll post a picture.

Speaking of swelling...Dr. Mo said I've still got 30-40% swelling. Anyone know what that means exactly? 30-40% of my body is swollen? 30-40% of my swelling is left?

As far as recovery...I think I'm doing pretty good. Getting up/down is still painful and slow but moving and walking around seems to be a breeze. I'm off my painkillers and able to deal with the kids almost full time. I get tired about half way through the day and need a nap to recharge. I hope I'm not over-doing it. Except for vigorous cleaning and heavy lifting, I'm pretty much back to normal. I'm really anxious to not have to wear the compression garment anymore. It's so stinkin' hot here and I just want to wear my normal clothes. And a normal bra. Please, let time fly. I think I've got another week until I can stop wearing the garment all day/night. What kind of bra do I get? No wires, obviously. I think Victoria's Secret is calling my name!

It's been a little over five weeks since my surgery and I'm doing great! Around 2 weeks post op I experienced a major setback. Apparently I had been too active too soon and for almost a week straight I was basically bed ridden. It was the worst pain I had experienced since my surgery...worse than the first few days. I didn't know what was wrong. My incision looked really swollen but most of all it was just a deep, stabbing pain all along the incision line. Especially on my hip bones. I had the nurse call in for more pain killers and antibiotics (just in case). I went in to my 2 week PO appointment expecting the worst. I thought maybe I had an infection or a seroma...but nope! I was just completely over doing it. After about five days, the pain started easing up. LESSON LEARNED!

I am still having a ton of swelling...especially around my hips, thighs and back. Basically everywhere that I had the lipo. I still can't believe how much I underestimated the side effects of the liposuction. Sometimes I swear I look about 4-5 months pregnant, the swelling gets that bad.

Something I'm concerned about.....I haven't lost any weight. I'm right around the same weight that I started out at. My boobs probably add, what, 2 lbs? I don't know. I can't help but feel like I'm gaining wait while being so inactive. My clothing fits differently. My normal pre-op pants fit now....loose in the tummy area, tight it the hip area. I know it's probably just the swelling.

I think I should just focus on what I SEE. And what I see is much flatter tummy and a huge improvement overall! The swelling will take some time but even with it, my body looks great. Very happy!

I have my six week post-op appointment this Tuesday and I'm excited to see what Dr. Mo has to say!
