The reality of what it was

Seems I am getting private messages about how good Dr DeLange is. He might do some good work, but that was not the case in my situation. I do not appreciate having his "so called" patients leave me messages or posting on my review. I notice very few are willing to post pictures of the work they had done.

Like I said before if I could have taken this whole review done I would, but if it was going to stay up, it was going to show and say the truth. This was a long period of driving there every week, then every other week. I had open holes and wounds for over 3 months. It was not a fun process, of having to pack my hole with so much gauze and cleaning it 3 to 5 times a day. It was my reality. If anyone wants to tell me I did not go through this, I will post every picture I took (there are many) throughout this long, painful process.

If the results were a flat tummy or something even close I would not be as upset. To have to go through that, and then within months realize I would need a revision, that is unacceptable to me.

The pictures below were more of my reality with this procedure for about 3 months, and the out come.

i feel so sad you had to go through this. I would think he would guarantee his work and do revision ASAP. My doc said "i want you happy and if there are any revisions to be made which imsure there wont be "i will fix it". he shuld have at least honored a fixing. On the other hand, everyone heals and responds differently to surgery. I guess its super important to fill yourself with healthy foods, no smoking, lots of fluids and vitamins. Idk i hpe this doesnt happen to me cause im broke after mine. its all of my 401k!

He said he would do a revision of the scar, never mentioned fixing the upper ab, or the bulge on the left side. At this point even if he was willing, I wouldn't want him to. I have lost all trust in him.

I am eat almost 99% organic, rarely drink, quit smoking over a year before I had this done. I work out 4 to 5 days a week, then it was with a personal trainer. I take vitamins daily, I followed his instructions to a T. He just didn't do the muscle repair to the breast bone like he said, and then when the issues arouse he said he never had any problems with any of his TT in the past.

So sorry this happened to you, I am hoping/wishing you find a solution This is a costly and traumatic event in our lives, even though we choose to do it, we always hope and expect the best. Hugs to you and wishing you only the very best outcome.

I am so sorry your operation hasn't given you the results you wanted. I have been haunting RS for over 2 years and have only recently built up the courage to see some plastic surgeons. I know I will be more than angry if i don't get the results I expect (I am now 64 so I am realistic about what to expect). After all they sell their services as PLASTIC SURGEONS, that is they say they have the training and skill to give you the improvements you want, so I can understand how you are feeling. I wish you lots of luck with your new plastic surgeon and that you get the results you want. It is so annoying with all the stress you had with the initial experience you have more expense and stress to go through.

None of the plastic surgeons will ever admit that they did anything wrong. They can blame it on you saying you didn't follow their direction on your post op care, went back to work too soon you started exercising too soon etc. we sign away the right to sue them when we agreed to allow them to cut into us. That's just the way it is which is why we need to continue to post here to share our experiences so others don't make the same mistakes that we did.

NOT HAPPY!!!

I was not going to update my TT review, but since I can’t delete it, I felt I needed to show what my journey was really like, and what my results were. I should have waited to write the review until I knew how it would have turned out.

To say I am not happy with my results is an understatement. I waited so long, and the results I got have made me more self-conscious than before. I work out, and stay on the thin side a size 2 to 4. I was told that I would not need lipo, then after wards when he saw my upper bulge he said lipo would help. I was told I would have a "rocking body" after my TT, what I have is what looks like a hack job. I developed a necrosis, which I was told he has never had happen, and was asked what I had done to get it. My husband was with me and felt I was being yelled at by the surgeon who had done this to me. It can happen to anyone, but he made a point of saying “I have never had this happen to my work”. I was driving down to see him once to twice a week, and having to clean and pack it 3 times a day by myself. It took over 3 months to heal. I was told the muscle repair was done to my breast bone yet 2 other plastic surgeons that I have been to have said that it does not look or feel like anything was done past 2 inches above my belly button. I got a second opinion with in 4 months when I could see that what I was going to end up with was not a flat tummy.

The last time I saw him, he discussed doing the scar revision, He also asked what I had done to cause the bulge until I pointed out it was part of the reason I had the TT in the first place. He then went into the file and saw it was there in the before pictures. He went on to explain that there is always a 5 to 10% correction, mine is more like a 30%, and getting worse with time. When I asked about my lower tummy he said it looked hormone related. I wonder what the ladies who haven’t gone through menopause yet look like; they certainly have more hormones issues then me. I have decided to get a TT revision and repair by another doctor. I will get an ultra sound beforehand just so I can prove no muscle repair was done above 2 inches past the belly button.

I feel the money and down time spent on this TT was a total waste!!!

My last visit was 5 months after my TT, It has been 21 months since my TT and I have never heard from them to see about scheduling the scar repair.

So what's happening now!? Did you get a refund? Is he fixing it? Did you have the ultrasound done to see if he's lying?

Nothing is happening now. I am trying to find a doctor I can feel comfortable with, and trust. Trying to find the 2 to 3 months for the recovery, and the courage to go through that pain and discomfort again. It hasn't been 2 yrs yet, one of the second opinions said I probably would need to wait at least 2 years or more before a revision could be done. I have not had the ultra sound, I need a doctor to order it. I can feel the gap, and can feel where it goes from being sewn to where it feels like nothing was done. I have not spoken to the doctor or the staff since January of 2015. I was getting tired of being blamed for the less then excellent results. I do not think a refund would be given. They have you sign many papers, which state that they do not guarantee any specific results. It has been a learning curve for sure, expensive, time consuming, and has made me leary to trust another doctor. I will post the ultra sound results when I get them done, and some more current pictures, that will take courage, which I do not have currently.

Ok, sorry you're having to go through all this. He better not be lying. Did you get the operative report? They HAVE to give you a copy. Legally. You can read that and see if he did the repairs. Does he operate in a hospital or his own office?

I have not asked for them, I will call and do that. He does it in his office, he has a surgical room there.

I have sent one letter asking for them. Never heard back from them. Am sending another one out today. Does he by law have to give me a copy?

Hormone related???!!! I guess you're just being a hysterical woman, too?! The nerve of this man! I hope you get the justice you deserve. I wish you all the best. Take care!

I don't think there is justice to be had. He couldn't admit he might have not done a great job. It's basically all my fault. Not sure how, but he isn't one to take responsibility for his mistakes.

I am no professional when it comes to taking or cropping pics. I also would like to mention that the color and dark marks on my face have greatly diminished due to Anna and her great facials, peels and what she has me on.
