I was at the doctor's office yesterday - 15 weeks post revision. His opinion of the tight, thick sensation is that there is a internal stitch that hasn't dissolved yet. I expressed my unhappiness with one eye tilting up and one tilting down, so he took some photos to compare with previous pics and said we will re-evaluate in another 3 or 4 months. He wants to give it a chance to soften up a little more. You can see in the pics from February 16 (just above this) where there is more of a crease at the corner of the left eye, and NO crease at the corner of the right eye. Didn't bother posting new pic because it hasn't changed in appearance since February.

Six weeks post-revision
WexFebruary 16, 2015
So here we are six weeks post-revision. Words can not express how unhappy I am with the results of the revision. This was done to correct the ectropion on the lower right eyelid. I think the doctor over-compensated and pulled the lid too tight. That's how it feels, as well as feeling thick and hard, and it is an uncomfortable feeling. I don't know if there is a chance that this will soften and relax over time. I keep massaging it with vitamin E oil. There was a small bubble next to the left eye (see prior photos). He removed it, but as you can see, there is a scar almost an inch long, and deep and ugly. It's worse than the scar on my forehead where he removed a large cyst during the original bleph in August (see prior photos). All in all I would say the cure was worse than the disease. I would have been better off leaving it alone. Of course, I don't know if any of this will improve as time passes. I saw the doctor the week after the revision when he removed the stitches, and he doesn't want to see me again until April. I don't know how this will end, but I'm really, really not happy.

Everyone will ask the same thing but what has he said besides the comment about smoking? Are you able to use a scar cream for the area where the bubble was removed and the incision on your forehead? What has he said about the pulling or is more time needed. I'm so sorry that the original sx and the revision sx have not provided acceptable results. Who knows the next several weeks may prove to be what is needed, sometimes patience and time is what is required. If after your next appointment you are still not happy it might be time to seek another opinion. Fingers crossed for you.
February 16, 2015
He hasn't said anything regarding the revision surgery. I haven't seen him since he removed the stitches the week after the revision. I don't think there is any point discussing it with him until some time has passed. I was using a scar cream for the original surgery on my forehead, and am now using it for the scar near my left eye. Thanks, I'm keeping my fingers crossed, too!

February 16, 2015
i had a big mole removed on my forehead between the eyes and the scar is still there but it's better than the mole for me, it's been about 5 years but i never used scar cream. hope it works for you. i'm trying micro needling on my scar now because i think it's too late for the cream. i'll let you know if it helps. i think the thick tissue you talk about will soften. i think cassandra had that and it softened for her.
February 16, 2015
The skin around the right eye feels so thick that I can feel it pulling every time I blink my eyes. I've looked through your photos again, and I don't see any scar on your forehead. The one above my right eye (from August) is really healing nicely. It was so ugly and jagged- looking at first. I don't know if that's due to the scar cream or not. I hope the new scar by the left eye heals as nicely.

February 17, 2015
Mine is not too noticeable until i look in my 10x mirror, haha. i had the mole removed by a well known plastic surgeon so it was done right but i can still see it.

February 18, 2015
the trick is to have bright lights right in your face to fill in all the wrinkles and your face doesn't look so bad, haha.

February 18, 2015
i just took a pic of it and blew it up huge, (i can barely see it myself now) i think with the botox and peels and all the other stuff i've actually smoothed it out considerably. it used to be a lot worse. the surgeon skillfully put the scar right where one of my 11's are when my botox wears off.
February 16, 2015
Wex, my 2 cents is that it looks much, much better. As to how it feels....it probably will soften up gradually over many months. The scar will fade, keeping a good sunscreen on it; the location is probably with concealer til it fades is likely unremarkable to those around you. Life is good, it's winter in America~ but not where you are :) Enjoy.
February 16, 2015
We're having our week of winter. The temperature dropped all the way down to the 50's for a few nights this past week. It was in the mid to high 60's during the day. I even wore leggings and a long sleeve shirt yesterday. But I still wore open sandals, as usual.

February 16, 2015
I think your right eye looks better than before. Give it time ...easier said than done ..lol
February 16, 2015
You're right, Joanne. Easier said than done. It looks better, but it feels foreign, if you know what I mean.

April 25, 2015
The thing is, you must have been really unhappy how they were to begin with to propell you to do it. that's what i tell myself when i question my upper eyelid job. Otherwise you would be wishing non stop. I personally think you look better and years younger. Learning to use makeup in a way that presents your eyes best is invaluable. Also, you were so fortunate to have lived for 50 years with the"love of your life", which means more than any of this.

Thank you for your kind words of wisdom, Frosted, and for reminding me to count my blessings. A big drawback to vanity is that we lose sight of the big picture.

May 6, 2015
Frosted biscuit, your comment opened up my eyes (so to speak) as well. You are 100% correct. Thank you!

5 Days Post-Revision
WexJanuary 10, 2015
Here are some pics 5 days post-revision. A lot of swelling on upper lid of right eye and malar area below both eyes. At this point I question whether my eyes will be symmetrical when it's all over. My vision is better today, but I'm not feeling confident enough to drive. I'm scheduled to see the doctor on Tuesday, hope he removes the stitches. They are feeling tight and pulling. Using warm compresses and applying ointment several times a day.

Wishing you a quick recovery and hope the stitches are removed soon.

January 10, 2015
not too bad considering this is the second trauma to them in 5 months and as for symmetry ....the eyes are sisters!
January 11, 2015
I don't expect them to be twins, but I expect them to look like they're members of the same family!

January 11, 2015
Lol. I think your doc has ensured that. The right had more work done so Its bound to be worse. Have you ever cut your finger , had It heal, then banged it again right where it had been hurt....it gets angry and takes longer to re-heal ? I reckon when those stitches come out you will be a whole lot happier. By March...you will be "younger than springtime" not older than dirt!
January 11, 2015
LOL It's so hard to judge what the outcome will be. There's just too much swelling. Can't wait for Tuesday to have the stitches out (I hope). As for being Younger Than Springtime - that's certainly something to look forward to!

January 10, 2015
The lowers look very good imo. Obv upper right is traumatized again. Looks like you will have a good outcome. I think your malar area is sensitive and settles down last. As one of the Dominican Republic lady docs on here (TT, BBL etc forums) says frequently "Be encouraged!" XO
January 11, 2015
High hopes is all I have at the moment, SS. Just suffering through a case of "buyer's remorse", so to speak. I've got to believe it will turn out well.
January 11, 2015
Hi there Older than dirt, I'm so happy to see ( no pun intended ) your updated recovery info. How do you feel overall? I mean do you still feel good about doing the whole process? I sure think you look so good ( that means , " no bs girlfriend, we are both so over the hill , the hill is now flat with 5000 overpriced houses ( the word houses should mean - squeezed together personality free dwellings) sorry for the tangent , so I mean good as in beautiful , a lovely face, not JUST a face in the crowd, a memorable face with eyes that DO LOOK GREAT! I know the interim period and the revisions suck but they are worth it in the long run. My eyes look more asymmetric to my PS than to me, but of course I am used to them seeing ( there's that pun again) them , damn mirror, and speaking of mirrors I used to hate them so much I somehow stopped even looking into them aided by my poor vision and started looking down all the time , partially to see where the heck I was going.... Maybe you know what I mean by that . Sounds like your PS cares about making your result as good as possible and that's important! My poor ps had so little to work with to start, the improvements ,though slow coming are pretty remarkable. I can't remember if I sent you any pics or not. That's another new thing for me, " letting people include me in their photo taking" and some aren't bad at all. I can not forget my ancientness as my body keeps reminding me, doesn't aging just stink?
I am contemplating more surgery to fix my knee and somewhat breast related, no not implants, reduction work may improve my posture and the uncomfortable wearing of bras not to mention the thought of even walking ( pain free) to shop for bras was never going to be in my future unless forced to endure such a outing! Anyway you keep hanging in there and posting what you are up too. I still get a chuckle by your titled review and wish you all the best!!!!! Hope to hear from you soon

Hi there, JWolfe. Yes, I still feel good about having the surgery considering what I looked like to start with. It's definitely an improvement to my appearance. I'm only sorry I didn't have the entire face done instead of just the eyes. But no chance of doing that anytime in the future, I couldn't deal with the recovery, and of course, the problem of not having anyone to help care for me during the recovery. I read through your reviews and would love to see your photos. They all seem to have been removed from the reviews. If you could send them to me, I'd love to see them. You seem to have had some of the same problems. Being Older Than Dirt, I'm not just over the hill - I was around BEFORE the hill!

Hi Wex,
You are still funny and keeping your attitude positive when needed!
I will try and find my photos too, even the scary hideous ones involving my eyes, not to freak you out, just so you dont feel alone.
And I wish you had someone to help you through recovery, if you could just move to my coast... Just kidding!!, I mean if you lived in some frozen land of nothing much well I would encourage you to at least move here for a while so I could help you out( not kidding) but you already live in a beautiful place and I know at my age the thought of moving even temporarily would certainly be out of the question!! Recovery is really tough, especially with the eyes I think so I get that misery! Will see what I can find to show you, I think my photos got removed from this site and I'd need an email address to send mine to you, and I understand if you want that info to be kept to yourself. I'll be thinking of you all the while and write you soon. Take care and don't be afraid to ask your people for help, my guess is that you have done A LOT for others in your life!

Hi Wex,
I did find some photos on my iPad, but I will need to send them to you via your email address, let me know about that and I hope you are better each day!

I don't think anyone really has 100% symmetrical eyes before or after surgery. Look online at Celebrities with 1 eye bigger than the other. There's quite a few out there. We notice it more now on ourselves because we had surgery and stare at our eyes all the time, lol. So even if you don't get perfect symmetry, know that you're not alone. Wishing you some level of revision success!
January 12, 2015
Thanks, Eye. I'm not looking for perfect symmetry. I'm just hoping that the revision surgery doesn't spoil the beautiful shape he achieved the first time around.

I'm sorry you are stuck in a waiting game- that must be so frustrating. Â I hope the tightness goes away soon. Â I didn't realize internal stitches can take so long to dissolve.
I wish there was something they could do about it, but I guess it is probably safest to just let the stitch dissolve than make any more cuts. Â Hang in there.
