Tapes and stitches removed

Had my (little over) 2 week post op appointment today. All tapes and knots (from stitches) removed. There is still swelling and some mild bruising. I am a little concerned about the pulling and puckering of the skin, but doctor says this is normal as everything is still settling. Have some numbness and tingling, which is also normal. As of now, my right breast still looks a bit bigger than my left at the skin fold, hopefully this will rectify itself. Got bioCorneum ointment to start my scar therapy. Next week I meet with the nurse to begin the Embrace strips. I am about a full C cup right now, hoping to settle to a large B/small C when all is said and done.
I also asked for my surgical report so that I could see how much tissue exactly was removed. My doctor mentioned that he removed much more tissue than he originally thought he would. My Right breast had 650 grams (1.43lbs) of tissue removed!! Leftie had 492 grams (1.08lbs) removed, which is still a lot considering insurance companies require 500 grams to be removed from each breast and we thought I would not get close enough to that number. He also performed liposuction on the side of my breasts to help make the new breast fold look better. He removed 200 grams on R and 142 grams on L, a total of .75lbs together.
The hardest part in all of this is watching the rest of my body turn to jello. I am only allowed to do mild walking, elliptical and/or treadmill. No weight bearing exercise of any form for another 4-6 weeks most likely. As someone who normally exercises with about 45 minutes to 1 hour of cardio a day, plus an hour to an hour and a half of Pilates, Yoga or weight training a day 5-6 days/week, this is huge adjustment. I keep reminding myself that I have spent a LOT of money for this surgery and don't want to muck it up in anyway.
Here are pics of what they look like without tapes and also a picture of me in the same shirt that I had photographed myself in pre-op.

Yes looks much better! Sorry the tapes bugging you, it does look like a lot so no wonder it's irritating. Glad yer able to just take tylenol and the pains getting better, I think it helps us heal if we're not all drugged up :) Can't wait to see yer final results!

Tape
spunkylalaDecember 2, 2014
Bruising and swelling are going down every day. I will post another pic later today. The tape is killing me! Not sure if it's a minor reaction to tape. It feels very taught and pulling, almost like a plaster under my breasts. Trying to wait until 2 week post-op to get them removed, however did talk to the nurse yesterday about possibly coming in earlier if it's really bother me. Got off pain meds at first post op and have been doing great with just some Tylenol here and there. All in all feeling good and surprised that I have not had as much pain and immobility as I was expecting. Pics coming later ;)

hey there looks like the swelling and bruising has gone down a lot. Sorry to here about the tape. How is your mobility? are you getting around and sort of back to your routine? How long were you on pain meds? Are you wearing a sportsbra now?

Mobility is good! I actually have to be careful not to do too much. Not back on routine, but back to work. On pain meds for only 4 days and at only half my dosage. Wearing a sports bra during the day and my surgical bra at night. The support feels good. Right now I can't be without a bra for too long.

that's so good to hear glad you are feeling better and getting around well! What size are you hoping to end up with? Yours looked great before (except size) so I am sure once you are all healed they will look super!
