Not Feeling Very Satisfied...I Am Gross & Stupid!!!!

Okay, so I am officially at one week & I am already seeing quite diminished results. It will take a lot more tweaking to get me where I feel satisfied...it may be a completely unrealistic goal.

I'm sorry you're feeling this way. Have you contacted your doctor and let them know? I know they mentioned the swelling going down might cause less definition in the cheek area. When is your next touch up?

Thx for your support Chris. I actually posted pics showing 1 week results. In looking at them I realize I have results still, just not as pronounced because swelling is gone & things are "settling in". I notice my left chjeekbone is much more pronounced, so I may get more to my right cheekbone to even them out. Overall I think it has reduced my nasolabial lines, which is good. I think I will wait three months before I get more...want to see how everything "settles in" & holds up. Appreciate your support!

You're very welcome. I agree, there is a noticeable difference in your before/after photos. I'm glad you're feeling better - keep us posted on how you're doing!

Had this done today & used three syringes: one on each cheekbone and the other in the chin/jowl area (1/2 per side). I was concerned based on some reviews I read, but impatience got the better of me...LOL! I went for it and had almost no pain because they added lidocaine to the filler before injecting. Iced it for several hours afterward & it helped tremendously! Was afraid I might have bruising on the left cheekbone, but the ice really worked. Swelling was very little, and I put on makeup two hours later & went about my business. I knew if my kids didn't notice a difference right away, that it was what I wanted....a refresher for my face, not a science experiment! Very little pain and I am loving what I see...more prominent cheekbones and better definition around chin & jowl area. Doctor said to not be too excited, because swelling will go down & then cheekbones won't be as defined. That's okay, because it is better than before & it is something that can be touched up later on! I struggled between using Radiesse or Voluma, but the reviews on RealSelf suggested people weren't seeing the "two year" miracle (more like 9 months), and it is siginificantly more expensive. I still have pronounced nasolabial folds & marionettes, but I did not want to treat them at the same time (I can always go back). What do you think....was it worth the investment?

Sorry, I only had two syringes added...mostly focused on cheeks then a smaller amount on both sides of chin..no swelling and very minor discomfort. Really not much swelling and only one minor spot with a faint bruise on left cheekbone. This experience has been positive thus far, so I may consider getting something for nasolabial folds & marionettes in the future..

Thank you for sharing your experience and your photos with us! The changes are subtle and natural - looks great!

Did your kids notice? Are you thinking of using Radiesse when you go back for your nasolabials and marionettes?

Kids did not notice, which is good for me because I wanted a subtle & natural effect. I am not sure what I will use if /when I get the nasolabial & marionettes done...I am leaning more toward a hyaluronic option that is reversible (maybe Juvaderm?). Love the radiesse for the cheeks and chin though...very nice "pick-me-up". Will probably get a touch-up right before my birthday. Was told subsequent touch-ups with Radiesse do not require as much product, as the collagen builds up around Radiesse filler over time, which helps maintain the "build" of the filler. Wanted to also mention that my swelling and discomfort is about 90% gone within 24 hours, which is great. I think Radiesse might be getting a bad reputatiobn because the injection was not done correctly, which is causing the necrosis & hematomas experienced by some people. My recommendation is to be conservative where you use it & how much you use (you can always get more but you cannot remove it once it is injected). For more delicate areas (lips, under eyes, nasolabial folds) I think it is better to use a filler that is reversible. Hope this feedback helps others who are exploring the option to use fillers for the first time!

I think others in the community will find your information extremely valuable - thank you again for sharing!

that's an excellent result, I had marionette lines done in 2014, almost 12 months on it was over time for a retouch. I have many auto immune problems including rosacea, vitiligo and thin skin but trust my dermatologist's recommendations and advice completely. Radiesse was good for me, there's some swelling so that affects what we see in the mirror until it settles, but I had no hesitation going back for a second treatment, and boy, am I wimp!
