Underarm hair has always been a problem for me. I really love wearing fabulous sleeveless shirts, but I really don’t have the time for plucking hair from my underarms. Aside from taking up too much time from plucking, I also hate the painful feeling it gives as me when I pluck each hair out. And after the agonizing experience of plucking, I always had this itchy feeling onwards. I really feel jealous with all those girls out there having the pleasure of wearing sleeveless shirts without having any trouble with their underarms. So, I asked a friend for solutions about this problem, she suggested that I should undergo Laser Hair Removal Treatment and recommended to see Dr. Hanna, who she said was an expert with this kind of treatment.
A few days later, I finally decided to see Dr. Hanna and undergo the laser treatment. The staff was really nice and supportive. Before starting the procedure, he first explained about the laser being used for the treatment. He patiently told me about the effects of the laser to my skin. He said that a part of the laser’s handle that touches my skin has a little piece of copper, which brings a cold temperature. So, when the laser fires on my skin, it won’t feel so hot because of the cold temperature that the copper gives. After explaining, we started the treatment. There was a small amount of gel applied on my underarm and he started to spread it using the laser. After a few seconds, he started to fire the laser on the area with hair, making the laser to produce clicking sounds. While undergoing the treatment, I wasn’t feeling anything painful like what I felt when plucking. It only felt like a snap of a rubber band. It was not that hot too. There was this warm feeling but it was bearable. The copper did help to lessen the heat from the laser. Minutes after, he placed a cold compress on my underarm then the treatment was finally done.
This was really a great experience for me! At first, I really thought about negative things that might happen, like my skin turning red after experiencing too much heat from the laser. But then, my expectations were wrong. It was extremely a great experience after all! The doctor was patient, nice and accommodating. The treatment was fast, and honestly not painful as it is when you pluck your hair. I really look forward in coming back for another treatment soon!
