Experiences with Northwest Surgi Center vs Northwest Hospital's main surgery unit...

Northwest Surgi-Center was 100% perfect...awesome from the second I walked in to the second I left. (Had tummy tuck there.)

Hospital Surgical Unit...hated it! My only confidence was in Dr Rottman. He was...as usual...perfect! Be sure you request the Surgi-Center!!!

Even though they are part of the same group it is night and day difference. (Got chin and back done there yesterday.)

3 months post op

I'm thrilled to pieces! I just went back in yesterday and had my upper back & chin done. At the same time, it did a tiny bit more lipo on my upper belly. If you look you can see where it sticks out a tiny bit. We thought it might be collected fluid so he took care of it! I can't wait to show you the new pics once swelling is down!

2 weeks post op

Swelling is bad, as expected from reading everyone's blog posts, but nothing unusual. Here are my two week pictures. You can see the huge bagging at the bottom of my tummy on the before and the beautiful flatness on the after pic. I even got a little bit of a mons lift as a result of the tummy tuck.

Dr. Rottman is younger for a surgeon, a little bit shy and reserved but he is a sweetheart. And, his work is flawless. During our initial meeting I could tell that his staff was really fond of him and respected him. I've had work done before where you sense that the doc is a jerk to his people. I wanted someone kind standing over me with that scalpel in their hand on surgery day! I could tell that he was a patient person, which is what you want in someone doing this type of work. I didn't want a jaded older doctor who just didn't care about his work anymore and rushed through to the next job/$. Dr Rottman did a FABULOUS job! I got a real winner as you can see from the photos. His work more than lived up to his before and after pics on his website. The entire experience with him was relaxed and enjoyable. I have NO patience for arrogant, overblown physicians and that condescending, my-way-or-the-highway atmosphere of so many practices. Take away the pain, and this whole experience has been a true pleasure. Pics: I will be posting again at intervals over the next few months so you can see the real results after the swelling finally subsides. (I'd had no idea that it took several months to see the final results at their best until I researched the surgeries.) Asking around at Northwest Hospital where he practices, I found that Dr R had a reputation for perfectionism and beautiful work. Regarding Northwest Surgi-Center in Baltimore...there aren't words enough to tell you what an unexpectedly fabulous experience it was. Everything from warm blankets, soft booties and an easy chair while you're getting prepped to the most friendly and competent professionals I've ever encountered. I felt like a princess. Although a princess in pain after the surgery. I haven't a single word of fault or even advise for improvement for their surgi-center. Advice: I'm 2 weeks post op and I won't lie to you girls, it was hell! Here's some advice: Do yourself a solid and rent a hospital bed and table ahead of time. (Look up Medical Supply Companies. It's cheap and they set everything up for you.) Have a friend watch your animals and kids for at least 7-10 days. Have someone competent and patient stay with you 24-7 for the first 3 days at least! This is major surgery. Also, Dr Rottman called me himself that night to see how I was. Then gave me his personal cell number and permission to call anytime during the night should I have a problem! Seriously, when did they start letting human beings practice medicine again?! I've had my first implant surgery 19 year ago, it was a very good experience, About 8 years ago I had an eyelid surgery with a jackass that called himself the "Best in Baltimore". There aren't enough negative words to describe the horrifying experience I had with him and his entire operation staff. They lent new meaning to the term 'Unprofessional'. Dr. Rottman has fully restored my faith in the surgical profession. Without a doubt I will be using him again. Update: I just went back to have my chin and back done. As usual Dr. Rottman was awesome! He really enjoys his work and his calm, pleasant demeanor is so reassuring. You'll not find an ounce of arrogance with this guy. or his excellent staff. They really are over the top. Thrilled to death with my results! I'll be posting separately about that experience. Last: Be sure to tell Brooke, who you'll be working with, to ONLY schedule the Northwest Surgi-Center...not the Northwest main surgical unit. If you need to wait for it, do. See my reviews about this on my page and you'll understand why. The Surgi-Center was a wonderful, wonderful experience. Not so the hospital's main unit.
