Well 5 years later and I'm finally getting a tummy...

Well 5 years later and I'm finally getting a tummy tuck! Went in to pay and have "before" pictures taken today. I've been super nervous all day because now it's real!
I went back and forth for years on the whole tummy tuck thing. I'm totally fine with most of my lovely lady lumps and I'm truly blessed to have a beautiful healthy child.... But this flabby belly has got to go.
I've been slightly overweight my whole life and have been able to maintain a healthy weight since my child was born 5 years ago. I workout and eat right for the most part but usually every year I get in the same rut because of my stomach. As most of you know ... No matter how many crunches you do... You just can't fix loose skin and muscles that have been pulled away from eachother. Being in better shape probably would have helped when I got pregnant but hey what can ya do!? How your stomach will look after is usually not top of the list when it comes to just having a healthy baby. So after having a 10 pound baby and some pretty decent weight loss it's time for me to fix my tummy. :)
I'm almost completely prepared for post surgery. I've looked at tons of lists other woman have made online. Even bought an automatic recliner!
I've got less than two weeks left!
I'll post pics of what I'm working with this weekend.

I had a consultation with Dr. Hall. I'm still going to get a consultation from another dr. Hope this isn't out of line but how do you ladies go about payment. I am having a hard time trying not to feel selfish about spending this kind of money on me at once, I have 4 kids and a husband to think about.

Trust me I felt selfish too. But I think its important for us to feel good about ourselves too. I know our kids don't care what we look like but when we get that 10 minutes of free time to take a bath and get out and look in the mirror we should feel good about our bodies. Sure I'm not a super model but I don't have to tuck my flabby gut in my jeans anymore. And that was worth it to me.
I had been saving for a couple years for this but still financed half of it and my payments aren't bad at all. It doesn't take from my bill money and will be paid off soon and it will just be a thing from the past I did for myself. I look at it as an investment in myself. Working out and eating right is so much easier now knowing I spent the money on myself . I want to make sure it stays that way.

And having my 5 year old play with my stomach like it was play dough was hard. I had to fight back the tears sometimes. I'm a confident mom but I wanted to be a confident woman again.
