31 Yr Old, 2 Kids, Silicone Breast Implants - Overland Park, KS

Couldn't be happier! Don't know why I waited so long to get this done. I feel so much better about myself. This past weekend I went swimsuit shopping and found two suits. I actually had the problem that my boobs didn't fit into suits!! Never had that problem before. My left side steri strip is off. Hubby said the incision looks really good (I've only seen in via the picture above).

** This is a long review with many pics as I am thrilled with the Dr's office and results! **

I will first preface this review by saying if you are looking for an excellent plastic surgeon in the KC area you will not go wrong by choosing Dr. Levi Young. After years of being unhappy with the size of my breasts (after 2 pregnancies and nursing both of my kids I went down to barely an A cup from a D cup) I finally decided to do something about it. I called around the KC metro area to multiple plastic surgeons offices to ask questions and try to get a feel for the offices. Dr. Young’s office was the last I called (I was actually looking for Dr. Hall who had retired and chosen Dr. Young to take over his practice). I spoke with Lori who answered my very generic questions and gave me ballpark pricing. She was so encouraging of me making this decision for myself and related to being a mom. We talked about how everyone else comes first and it was time for me! I immediately knew this was the office to have my consult with.

The day of the consultation, I had my 15 month old daughter with me who quickly became an office favorite. Everyone loved her and did not make me feel as though I shouldn’t have brought her with me- even brought her toys to play with! My husband met me at the office so he could be a part of the decisions. Kim (Dr. Young’s nurse) was so warm and welcoming. I was so comfortable talking to her about me, my kidddo and husband. She answered more brief questions and said the doctor would be in shortly. Dr. Young got held up in another office and Kim made sure to keep us updated while we waited.

Dr. Young came in for the consult. He was so patient answering all my questions. He explained everything in terms my husband and I could understand. I did bring pictures of what I did NOT like and explained what I DID like. I was very set on not having inframammary fold incisions (due to already having a large c-section scar). He explained that he could get the size of the implant through a slightly bigger opening than the areola incision and explained the benefits of having the inframammary incision done. I changed my mind to that. I also had thought that I wanted saline. He explained the benefits of saline vs. silicone implants. I decided to go with silicone. I told him the size I wanted to be (was a small A and wanted to be back up to a D where I was while I was nursing). He told me he would do 500cc on my RT side and 550cc on the LT due to asymmetry. He recommended high profile implants based on the look I wanted with a subglandular placement.

I was able to schedule the surgery for the next week. I was a little nervous about the 500cc implant as it was much larger than I expected. Kim was very patient with all my questions I had after my initial consult. She even offered that I come in to try on implants (although Dr. Young does not recommend this). I declined knowing that he was the expert, knew what I wanted and ultimately he was the Dr who knew want he was doing. I had already explained what I wanted as the end result and I had complete trust in him that I would get exactly what I wanted. (I have been SO happy with my results!!)

Fast forward to the day of surgery… I had my surgery done at Heart of America Surgery Center. After all the pre-op stuff (IV’s and such) Dr. Young came in to do some markings. All the nurses and anesthesiologists were so wonderful – I felt completely at ease and trusting. Last thing I remember talking about before surgery was the age difference between my kids (7 year difference!) and then I woke up with boobs! Dr. Young actually placed 560cc in my LT breast and 520cc in my RT. The worst pain of the whole post op experience was immediately after surgery. The nurse with me was very accommodating in making sure I was comfortable for the drive home. Once I got home I stayed in my recliner with my meds schedule close. It took me a few hours to start feeling like myself after the anesthesia. For the first 3 days post op I stayed on top of the meds schedule weaning myself down from 2 percocet’s down to one every 4 hours about 24 hours in. I was so surprised as how little pain I experienced – just discomfort/soreness. I stopped all pain meds after 3 days and switched to ibuprofen as needed. Post –op day three I was able to pick up my daughter with no issues. I was so surprised at the fact that there was hardly any bruising! And that I could pick up my daughter just a few days after the surgery. I did stay sleeping in the recliner for the first 8-9 days. The past couple of nights I have been back in my own bed and actually sleeping on my side with only slight discomfort.

Overall, I would do the surgery all over again (sooner rather than later!) and I would not pick anyone else to complete it. I will recommend Dr. Young to anyone looking to have any plastic surgery procedure done!!
