I was always a fairly slender type of body. Until after my second pregnancy- I had a fairly large baby boy and boy oh boy did he stretch me out. It also ended up being an emergency C section which left me with a pretty unsightly scar. Since delivering #3 I have struggled with my saggy excess skin, hidden belly button and pooch from the c-section. I'm in pretty decent shape physically but nothing changes how my belly looks. So I decided to grab the bull by the horns and have things fixed up.

Post Op Day 2

juleserin
Actually feeling pretty decent since the surgery- after the nausea quit. Anesthesia and I are not friends. I've been throwing up for about 24 hours post surgery - every time I get out of bed and try and move around. It finally subsided around noon the day after surgery. Been drinking water and lemonade and I went for a short walk outside. Kinda feel like the hunchback of Notre Dame. I've been tolerating the pain quite well and only taking regular strength Tylenol from 24 hrs post op to now. This afternoon the pain seems to be catching up to me and I have had to take an actual pain pill. I have one drain and the output hasn't been crazy, I guess that's good?

Hi, I'm 10 days post today. My recovery has been going great although for the first 3 - 5 days I would have given anything to have it undone. Feel free to read my blog. 2 days post and walking outside is amazing. My advice is do not let the pain get ahead of you. I am very health conscious and hate taking any kind of meds but I was faithful to the pain killers and meds for at least the first 5 days, although after about day 2 I alternated taking oxycondone only at night and first thing in the morning, with Tylenol. I now only take Tylenol and not regularly, only when needed. I'm feeling great, other than the expected swelling, etc. Oh another thing, pay special attention to the BB keeping it clean. Happy healing and God bless.

Thank you so much for reaching out to me. Its nice to have words of encouragement. Other than hubs no one else knows my "real reason" for surgery. Just didn't want to deal with negativity and people thinking I'm being vain. Thought about doing this for the last 5 years. Finally just decided I want to look and feel my best when I turn 40! For me!

I know what you mean. I am from Calgary but we have a condo in Vegas. I choose to have my surgery in Vegas for mostly privacy reasons. I am still here and will be returning to Calgary on June 9. My sister is here with me, other than than, just my closest friends, my sisters and my husband know. I'm very active and could never get rid of the pouch. Hated seeing myself in my yoga clothes. I'm glad I will not have to deal with that anymore. We are blessed to be able to do this and it takes a lot of courage. It will be great to be healed completely but I am on the mend. Take care of yourself and do not try to rush your healing. God bless. :)

Day 6 Post Op

Definitely turning the corner on this journey. Being honest those first few days are tough - no matter how tough you are! I had my drain removed Day 4 post op. My belly button bandage changed. some stitches taken out from the major scar and that bandage changed to a steri type tape.

I am now three days without meds of any kind and I'm feeling pretty good. I have been doing quite a bit of walking in between long periods of laying elevated in bed or reclining in a zero gravity chair. Had my first BM without issue but I did take the stool softener for 4 days post op. I am definitely pretty swollen today through my hip area and tummy area. My tummy is mostly numb with odd twinges that roll through? Sort of like those first movements you feel when you are pregnant. I'm tying to drink a lot of lemon water, I'm eating heavy protein and fruits and veggies to promote healing. I changed my bandaid in my drain hole today and from what I can tell it's mostly closed. Looking forward to being able to straighten up - my back and shoulders are killing me!

Your scar line looks very neat. Do you mind me asking what you weighed going into surgery and your height? Did you have lipo as well?
June 9, 2016
