WORTH IT
I don't know if I can succinctly articulate just how much I appreciate Dr. Bonaparte's work. I first met Dr. B in 2013, seeking his services as an ENT because of a persistent ear infection. Later, we started talking about breathing troubles I was having on account of my nose. Upon examination, he discovered that I had a deviated septum and recommended that I have a septoplasty. However, I was also fairly unhappy with the appearance of my nose, which was large, assymmetrical, broad, and bulbous with quite thick skin. Dr. Bonaparte explained that a septoplasty and rhinoplasty could be combined into one procedure and I was sold.
Personal matters meant that I was unable to keep my initial surgery date and I had to postpone at the eleventh hour. Dr. Bonaparte was more than understanding and said that whenever I was ready to go ahead he would still be more than happy to operate.
In advance of my surgery, I was worried whether or not my expectations were going to be realistic or not. Given the size of my nose, I was worried Dr. B wouldn't be able to take it in as much as I would have liked or that I would run into some complications on account of how misshapen it was. Dr. B was very generous with his time, allowing me to come in to discuss the surgery, allaying all of my fears, and discussed realistic goals with me.
Following my surgery on April 14 of this year, Dr. B told me that my nose had been one of his more complicated cases but that he was happy with the result. Initially, with all of the swelling, I wasn't sure there was much change. However, a nose job isn't like a haircut... It takes time! I am eight and a half months post-op and my result looks fantastic and is close to how it will be (it takes about a year). Dr. Bonaparte was able to substantially reduce the width and size of my nose all while keeping it in harmony with my face. Most importantly, I can BREATHE. I've since been able to join a gym and workout without becoming short of breath and have lost over thirty pounds. People meeting me for the first time have absolutely no idea that I had my nose done. People who met me before the surgery remark at the great improvement in my overall facial balance. Dr. B is honestly and truly an artist with how he approached my facial surgery, ever concerned with proportion/scale and balance.
I don't avoid cameras at parties anymore. I hold my head up while walking through crowds. I didn't think I felt particularly bad about myself before but I feel so amazing now. Thank you so much, Dr. Bonaparte. You changed my life for the better!
PROS:
*Could immediately breathe through my nose following surgery (no more dry mouth, sleepless nights, or becoming out of breath)
*Substantially improved appearance
*Relatively pain-free post op (I didn't even bother to fill out my pain prescription)
*Post-op care is relatively easy
CONS:
*Swelling freaked me out a little post-op, no matter what anyone told me, because my nose initially looked similar to pre-op (it does continually get so much better though!)
*Thicker skin stays swollen longer (mine still feels a *little* swollen, remember, it takes a year to go down)
*I broke out a bit under the splint, so make sure you have a good acne treatment plan if you have thick/oily skin like I do.
The cons are merely things to look out for and in not way are permanent or present issues.
I just have one comparison photo for now, showing my nose before and about two months after. Both are at the same scale and you can see how substantial the change is. I was a little unevenly swollen in the after photo and have more photos to share later.

I had a revision rhino done in Ottawa by another Dr and had horrible results. I'm gaining to have a second revision soon.
Can you explain more about why your nose was 'complicated'? I'd like to know what he did so I can decide if he might be able to handle my difficult case.
Are you still happy with your results?
Thanks
