I can't believe After one Session how much my skin has changed! My rosacea redness & texture bumps & ruddy complexion look so much better! People have noticed. I look so much younger and I still have 2 more sessions to go. I plan to use hydroquinone at a later date for my melasma as it helped me get rid of the faint black line above my lips.

Your skin looks amazing! What needle depth did they use on you?

Mels44, Thank you so much! The medical esthetician only used a 1.0 mm needle because I have melasma and it can trigger a further inflammatory response and cause more hyperpigmentation.

I still have 2 more sessions to go and I will continue to post updates. My next session is at the end of July. If only one session did this much, I can only imagine what 2 more sessions will do.

To be honest, I was at my wits end with my skin and basically resigned myself to the fact that I would just have to deal with it.

I'm almost 41 and my skin was beginning to have that tired look. My makeup wouldn't apply correctly even when trying to do with a beauty blender.

Today was the first time in 10 years that I could just apply powder without having to put on the foundation first. Now I have that matte look I had in my 20's where it goes on flawlessly without caking.

This is exactly what I needed. I recently had a bad Botox experience and having a problem with a lowered brow where one eye appears smaller which will go away in 3-4 months but at this point I can deal with that especially because my refreshed skin trumps all of that.

I'm so happy I did this!

I forgot to mention that I have not taken my doxycycline for my rosacea in 3 weeks and I have seen a significant change in the redness. It's not as bad as it used to be. I will go back and refill my prescription but amazed to see what Microneedling has done and haven't had to reply on the medication.

There are OTC eye drops you can get to help raise your eyebrow back up while you're waiting for the botox to wear off.

Microneedling worked wonders for my melasma.

Have you thought of getting IPL treatments or using a more natural topical cream as opposed to hydroquinone, since it can pose some serious health risks?

I've done 5 IPL treatments in the past and it helped a little bit but the hyperpigmentation always seemed to return esp after going on vacation and using sunblock consistently and finding shade out of the sun as much as I could.

The hydroquinone I found helped as it basically stops the production of more melanin in its tracks. I have researched the studies and dangers of hydroquinone but haven't found anything solid to stop me from using it short term.

I have another Microneedling Session July 28 and will post my results at that time.

10 Days After Dermapen

It's been 10 days since I did my first dermapen session and love the results. I look fresher and makeup goes on a lot smoother. Can't wait until the end of the month to do another session. My esthethician used hylauranic acid serum and gave me one to take home to use twice a day:. My skin is much softer and smoother but the texture is what I am blown away by. I still have rosacea flushing and hyperpigmentation issues but glad that my makeup properly covers this up without much effort.

40 Year Old & Oxygeneo Facial

User Avatar
NCanada2017

I recently had a Microneedling Session done through Ottawa Medi Spa earlier this month and the results were fantastic. Part of the Microneedling package included a oxygeneo facial.

I am almost 41 years old and was noticing pigmentation and texture issues with my skin. It was starting to look blah and dull.  This facial was different from other facials I've had in the past. The first part was the exfoliation process and it was like a scrubber going over my face but nothing painful with a weird buzzing noise. After that was completed, my skin felt "clean" at a deeper level.  The second part which was the infusion where you can pick between 2 gels.. the first is Neo revive which targets anti aging and fine lines/wrinkles while the sencond choice was neobright which helps pigmentation issues, skin brightening and texture issues. I chose the neobright because I have hyperpigmentation issues and texture issues with my skin. The final phase was the oxygenation part which felt very good on my skin. While some aspects of the facial like just another regular facial, the first phase was certainly different. When I left and got in my car in the sunlight, I could see an immediate change. My skin was brighter with a glow and my pores looks minimized and my skin felt soft. I didn't apply makeup for the next 5 hours but when I did it went on so much smoother much like it did after my first Microneedling Session. My skin feels soft and supple right now. The lady who did my facial said it's good to get one every 6-8 weeks. This type of facial is dramatic. I highly recommend it and thrilled with the results. I am going for another Microneedling later this week so the results for that after this facial will be even better.
