I'm worse off now than I was before surgery with the face dental
$7,500
My jaws are worse off now than before the surgery. Several professionals have told me this.
I thought I was doing the right thing by going to the face dental, because my insurance kept denying my double jaw surgery.
This feels like a nightmare.
I just don't understand how Dr. Lee, a maxillofacial surgeon can much such big errors. It looks like the cuts weren't measured or checked to see if they were leveled.

The face dental update
It's been about a week since I last received an email from Dr. Lee at the face dental and he was writing me just one sentence per email. I can understand he's busy, but this is drastically different from before my surgery. Before I had the surgery he sent me emails with lots of paragraphs and explanations. This is a little concerning to me.

I have a cant now
Before surgery I was told by Dr. Lee at the face dental I had a upper jaw cant and he would correct it. I was confused by that since none of the other surgeons I consulted with pointed that out. I remember immediately after the jaw surgery I developed a cant. And the test with the popsicle stick test looked canted after surgery, whereas the before was not. Dr. Lee assured me and said I just needed more orthodontic work. I was hesitant but I let it go. And I was just focused on my gummy smile being less noticable and that my bite seemed better at the time.
But now in photos I can see it and my lips and nose look slanted compared to my before photos. And I measured my cant with a ruler that has a leveler and it's canted by 3 or 4 mm. Usually the margin for error on the jaw is 1mm or less.
I'm still trying to work things out with Dr. Lee at the face dental clinic and see what can be done.
