Dental Implants + Bone grafting (considering Orthognathic Surgery)

I had an in person consult to discuss the details of my case with Dr Leon. Due to the price, I’ve decided to only do my dental implants and bone grafting with Dr Leon for now. I’m also doing orthodontics with Dr Maarten at SmileMporium - Will review that service separately. The orthognathic surgery plus the dental implants + Bone grafting was coming out to be over $40,000 USD even out here in Mexico. So I’ve decided to do the most important treatments first, see how those go, and if all is well MAYBE pursue orthognathic later on. I’ll keep posting updates here for the dental implants and bone grafting procedures and the exact pricing and process for that. Overall, Dr Leon was very kind and the clinic is nice. The prices are just much higher than expected.

The virtual consultation was good minus our internet connection being a bit spotty. Aside from that, Dr Leon was gracious, extremely detailed, and informative. He walked through my case with me, allowed me to explain the history and had the same concerns as me in terms of what needs to be improved. We decided on pre-surgical orthodontics beginning in July (hopefully). Then I will have my first appointment with him to assess my bite and jaw further in August. And I have my fingers crossed to have the orthognathic and bone grafting procedure done by November hopefully. And then implants will follow shortly after.
I will say that I was a bit surprised by the price quote I received, it was significantly higher than the other dental clinics I consulted with in Mexico City prior to speaking with him, and closer to the prices being offered by surgeons here in the States. My quote came out to $34,950 USD (that is not including ortho or dental implants). It seems as though his facility fees, staff, and materials ramp up the price significantly as he only comes to perform procedures once every other month in MX. If all goes well with the presurgical orthodontist he refers me to, and the pricing for that is doable I hope to continue and have this procedure done with him.

I am currently awaiting a consult with Dr. Nelson Leon this week. The consult was easily scheduled via whatsapp and cost $150 USD. I have only read his reviews and seen his cases online so far and since I have yet to see any reviews on realself for him, I have created this review to document my experience in case anyone else was considering to see him for their concerns.

A bit about my situation: I am currently exploring options in Mexico City for treatment for missing teeth and jaw/bite misalignment. I have been putting off the treatment for the last 6 years and have lost quite a bit of bone due to it. Really looking forward to getting this taken care of once and for all.
