I opted for a tummy tuck with muscle repair after I had another surgeon use mesh to repair my hernia. Even though the procedure ended up being way more painful and involved than I thought it would be I'm happy with the results. 4 months later I'm still experiencing some pain but usually only after working out and using my core. My doctor says it takes 18 months for your core to be back to normal even though there are no restrictions as far as what you can do after about 3 months. I am thrilled with my small waist, I didn't realize after childbirth it would stretch out your muscles to the point I looked like I had more of a boyish build, and there was no amount of exercising that would change it. It's nice to have some curves again!
