Botched ; Dr. Left the Country when I Was in Need

I have relocated from Florida to New England, in search for better medical care as well as staying with family, as I could no longer care for myself after my experience with this doctor. I was in the emergency room again recently, and today saw a new OB/GYN. The pain and suffering from my symptoms has decreased significantly with a reduction of swelling, though I am not yet healed fully, and still having pains. In my experience, female doctors have been more humane, and empathetic than anything I expected after meeting the Serrao team. I can only pray that the rest of this recovery continues to improve, so that I may live and work again soon. This has been traumatic, and for anyone considering, please choose an honest doctor, *check their credentials,* and do your own research on their methods effectiveness before selecting. Chamomile tea is not an anti inflammatory and neither is ice. I do not recommend this doctor.

So sorry about what you going through. I also had a nightmare recovery and still dealing with it. Do you know what caused the inflammation? When did you start to feel better?

Disappointed but optimistic, received help from ER doctors

I am about 12 weeks post-op. I have now been emitted to the ER twice in the last month, and finally was proscribed anti-inflammatory steroids, as well as provided an oral Arnica tablet for swelling and pain. I’m not sure why dr. Serrão has chosen to do this... but I know God has a reason for everything. I am still on bed rest due to the swelling and physical pain. I cannot receive treatment from another doctor until 90 days post-op, because dr. Serrão dismissed me from his practice. I cannot help but notice the timing, so shortly after getting back from his vacation. I really recommend looking at at least three different surgeons...
No matter what you are *told* at your consult, Dr. Serrão takes risks which may jeopardize your recovery. I’m sorry to make these lengthy, I’m just in excruciating pain at times, and feel abandoned due to his sequentially disappointing actions.

They also asked me lots of questions regarding his practice, and I can confirm that Dr. Serrao does not go by the books... so if that’s what you’re looking for, stay away! Trust your gut, or simply a female GYN plastic surgeon’s recommendation.

The only reason I recommend a woman, is because they may be easier to talk to about your options, and definitely will handle your body with empathy .

Though I am still bed ridden, and unable to stand, walk, sit, or sleep properly, I have left the area I moved to, and relocated to Tampa, continuing the treatment instructions from the ER. I have chosen a female GYN, and hope that through all of this, some good botched labiaplasty will come.
I have been unable to participate in the past four months of my life now, and cannot emphasize how important it is to do your research before trusting this doctor. He may be qualified for minor cosmetic enhancements, but in no way Is capable of performing or producing successful GYN results. Please, if you are wanting any kind of GYN treatments, look at all of your options in your state, and pick the best. Do not pick simply because they assure you your dream results, or because they make you feel safe. At the end of the day, I feel like I’ve trusted a poor salesman, who could not deliver. This has been traumatic.

Please contact me if you have had any issues with this establishment

I am still very weak, and had an appointment scheduled for tomorrow. This has been so unbearably unpleasant, I am having to now schedule appointments for secondary opinions. It has been 10 weeks, and today they have “discharged,” a.k.a. refused to continue to treat me. When I called in, I was trying to reschedule my appointment for Wednesday, not tomorrow, because I am bed ridden, cannot walk, or sit in the car for an hour. I have not had enough care, and am no where near the goal which I had set prefacing my procedure.
