Lost 50+ lbs on my own. I want my body to look...

Lost 50+ lbs on my own. I want my body to look fabulous before my 50th! :-) I researched, consulted, saved and booked... First thing I've done for "myself" in years. My PS and his staff are amazing, loving, inspiring and encouraging! Initially I was extremely nervous. Allowing someone outside of my husband and my gynecologist to see all that I've camouflaged for years was not easy. After my first meeting with Dr Joseph I knew he was the one to help me make my dreams come true. My weight had fluctuated for years, my surgeries seemed to make the belly area worse. As I lost the weight, the excess skin was unbearable. It was aggravating to always wear Spanx tanks to hold it in, and still have a belly sitting on my lap because of hanging skin! Not being able to see my girl parts was the most devastating for me too. This was not a decision I came to lightly. I knew I wanted a change and exercise & diet were no longer an issue. I'm early in to the process. Post op is next week. Nothing has been unexpected. I'm following the rules, and so far so good. This is not a means to lose weight, but a means to look better after losing the weight. I'm looking forward to the additional changes I will see as my journey continues ....

My surgery was on 3/17 from the before picture you can see I had a lot of skin that had to be removed. This was a big decision for me to share these but I hope these will help others as many pictures here helped me as I researched. My journey..?...I have a way to go, but so far, so good! I feel good and am blessed. Very happy & I'm almost two weeks out, doing phenomenal! :-)

Hey there nrowe711! I have been so extremely consumed with work, life etc., that I have really missed out on a lot here. I started using SkinMedica Scar Recovery Gel about 2 weeks ago. What about you?? What's your thoughts on the lymphatic massages?

I unfortunately have been extremely busy with work...life...and have not had the chance to update my journey.

All is well.. Belly button taking its sweet time to heal and now at 6 weeks all of a sudden awful pain and numbness!?! I'm sure it's part of the process. I've been blessed so far, so I can't complain. I may be trying to do too much, not sure. Loving all the new me. Scale is going down again so I'm anxious to work out more!
