I am 40 years old and had two microneedling treatment in two separate offices. One was with PRP and the other without. However, when the second treatment was done the fine lines in my forehead were more visible. So I panicked and had Dysport injections which corrected the fine lines but it cost was expensive. The provider was not aware of this side effect and stated it was not the microneedling that cause the fine lines but I know it was because it occurred within the week of the treatment. I read that thyroids or glycation may cause it? So would these wrinkles, be permanent? Will I have to now continue to spend money on disport every 4-5 months? it is amazing how so many people do not have awareness in regards to microneddling from the clients, to the providers. It appears it gets more praise than it should. In addition, the providers do not even have consent forms indicating the possible side affects. I am very concern with the long term affects. I am never going to get microneedling again!! SCARY PEOPLE NEED TO BE AWARE!!!!!!!!!!! More education regarding this procedure should be shared !!!!!! Next month I am going to try the Fractional Laser resurfacing and I will post my results! WISH ME LUCK!

Here are the pictures of the micro needling damage.
I wanted to share this with everyone: This is a guide an apparently there is side affects. I am just so upset that there is lack of professional education on this.

Your pics don't show your forehead. I see the lower 2/3rds of your face. Just remember that your face doesn't instantly form new collagen. It takes time.

You didn't specify, was it the micro pen or roller. This photo doesn't show anything

Thanks, I've just read it. Dr Lance Setterfield is an expert on microneedling, and he is basically positive about the process, but of course one must use the right tools and not have an underlying health condition/medication that undermines the process.
One thing he doesn't mention, but which professionals using single needling/dry needling only in lines and acne scars do point out:
Deep wrinkles and acne scars could look worse because the process is *working* if you use overall rolling/stamping instead of focusing on the indentation. Imagine a cheek with deep acne scars, being rolled all over. Clearly, the indentations may receive less needling than the surrounding healthy cheek. The latter will then build some new collagen, have slightly thicker skin. So how is the indentation going to look? Worse!
JBarrios, you've had a bad experience, but can you tell us whether only your lines were treated, to just build them, or the whole face?
I've been using microneedling for 5 years now, every time a perioral line appears or the nasolabial and perioral lines become too deep, but I treat *only* the wrinkles/indentations most of the time, with whole cheek far less often. Most of my little perioral lines, forehead lines and bunny lines treated individually with single needles, disappeared. I just have one 'deep dent' around one perioral line that is taking longer but also shallower through plenty of needling. Plus with age new little lines keep forming and need needling. But the process, done properly, can work.

Thank you for your response. My entire face was treated. I have not seen any major improvement. I do however see a very small gradual change, but I am not sure if this is related to the treatments I had done. The botox, pixel, retinol creams, Hydrafacials and oxygen facials.

Radio frequency would be the most likely culprit to cause sagging cheeks and fat loss. There are a lot of complaints here

Hi, is the microneedling done with the pen/device or a dermaroller/dermastamp?
