Smart/Water Lipo - Very little material was removed

Here are photos.... One set is pre-op and the other is after two full complete lipo sessions. My weight is the same in both photos and rarely fluctuates. I have an average size and I'm thinner than 95% of men my age. I wear medium shirts. Never large, XL, etc. Thus, the reason for lipo.... to remove an area that I cannot remove from dieting or I'll be like 'Scrawny Arms Rob Lowe.' The imaging was performed between the two sessions and about 6 mos. post-op of the first procedure.... and cost me a fortune. I post this information simply to show the results I had. I have a third procedure planned, and this doctor was shocked to hear during my consult that there were two procedures performed previously. (I kept it quiet until his examination was over.) Only when he searched for a hint of a cannula scar was he convinced I had lipo previously. Since this is going on in my life now is why I decided to post here at this time. I have no idea if my non-result is due to the type of lipo performed, or due to the Dr's technique. Dr. Bassin is quite nice personally, and he was kind enough to do a 2nd procedure, although initially he refused. I give poor marks to the office due to a combination of poor results and also because he and his staff seemed to blow through the procedures very quickly. It's been possibly explained that some people have fibrous fat areas which require a lot more procedure time to get at the amount of fat that needs to be removed for a good result, but after a first procedure has poor results, a Dr. should know this and compensate. The Dr. also initially insisted I had no abdominal fat left after the first procedure, but the imaging shows otherwise. The bottom line is, after two full lipo procedures my before and after photos are indistinguishable from one another and also do not show the same result as thousands of other before and after photos all over the internet, some quite dramatic. Thanks.

I had TWO water lipo sessions with Dr. Bassin. ...
I had TWO water lipo sessions with Dr. Bassin. They did not work at all. Very little material was removed, and a lot of fat was left over. I had before and after pictures taken, and i put tape over both sets of photos where the cannula marks were to see if he could tell which set of photos was which. He couldn't. Then, he said I simply had excess skin, which was absurd as I've never been obese. I had to get an MRI to prove it was a lot of fat and not skin. Don't do water lipo.

I'm sorry you didn't see any results, that is always so disappointing. Can we see those pics?
I'm getting body jet lipo next month. Do u think it was the doctor or the technique that doesn't work?
Hello. As I said below with the photos, I don't know. But my personal opinion, which is based upon my results and experiences and review, is that unless the entire lipo industry is a scam including all of the millions of before-after photos that show clear results....or unless I'm a freak of nature, I would say the doctor didn't take enough material out of me. I just looked at my medical records, and it was recorded that I received a combo of laser and jet lipo (smart), but I do not know what proportion of each. Only 200cc of fat total (7oz!) were removed with my first procedure! That's not even a cup of fat spread all around my midsection that was removed! Apparently, 7oz is a very small amount for a first procedure on four areas receiving lipo (upper abdomen, lower abdomen, and each flank). To me, and to the docs I've seen, (and on my CT scan), there's a lot more fat that that that can be removed. The maximum amount of fat that can be removed in one outpatient session in Florida is 140oz/4000cc. The only problems I have read that may affect lipo are that some people have fibrous adipose area, but this simply means that it takes more time to perform the procedure to remove enough tissue. My personal suggestion is to get some consults with other docs and ask them about the difference in methods. Some docs out there say that water lipo, if done properly, removes a large amount of fat. I would also discuss with the doctor before the procedure about the amount of fat material they expect to remove to produce the result they/you want, and ensure they do not stop until that amount of fat is actually removed. You can bet I'll be doing this. I have another procedure scheduled with another doctor who has performed a very successful procedure on a good friend. I will post results when I have them, which will be in a few months.
Wow so it probably was your doctor that sucked! I'm sorry that happen to u no one deserves that and to have their money wasted. I hope your procedure goes better next time.
Please keep updating. I'm having surgery done the 22nd and I'm having body jet lipo. I hope mine goes well.
Here, this is an excellent page that has a bunch of docs doing a great job (seriously) of beating up each type of lipo procedure. The only thing each and every doctor agrees on, is that it is mostly the DOCTOR that counts, regardless of the type of procedure used.

Dr. Bassin is a rip off!

Thanks for posting pics. I'm assuming the first three are the before pics and the next three are the after?
Wow that certainly proves your point. I'm sorry you didn't get any results.
