I have lipedema and need it removed before I can proceed with a lower body lift, FDL tummy tuck, arm, thigh and breast lift. It'll take 3 or 4 liposuction treatments then one surgery day to do lower body lift and TT ($17,500) Another surgery day for thigh, arms, and breast. Still deciding on an implant or not. May have rhinoplasty at some point too. I HATE surgery and pain but I'd love to feel better about my body someday until then I can love me as is. Here's photos from surgery #1. #2 will be 90 days from the first.

I didn't know I had lipedema when I had my first surgery. I was diagnosed recently by a specialist. The surgeon thankfully still did an excellent job and didn't damage my lymphatics during surgery. Although she's not technically experienced with lipedema she is with WAL and being gentle so if she's willing to do surgery number 2 I'm up for it rather than go to Beverly Hills where an experienced physician is. I'm certain it's because I have lipedema but the pain was severe for three weeks and Dr. Chang only wanted to provide prescription pain reliever for two. I'll definitely need a better pain management plan in place. Overall, it went as well as I could expect for surgery.

Thank you for your post and your pics!

Once the lipedema is liposuctioned, can it come back?

I'm told technically Yes by my specialist so the compression therapy is important life long. He's also asked me to switch to a more keto type diet to see if that helps with swelling and inflammation long term.

Likely no. There isn't a lot of definitive research yet but patients as far back as 20 years that had liposuction for stubborn fat have found it didn't return. Insurance companies haven't been motivated to do the research because they've found physical therapy and pain pills to be cheaper. We have top change their minds.

Not likely but technically it can. 3 years later the places treated have not. I need to finish my procedures to my knees and calves and have found a surgeon in TJ, Mexico with excellent reviews, the safety record I've been looking for and the after care pain treatment I deserved during my first treatment. After my last treatment he'll follow through with an extended thigh lift.

I just realized my quote here for TT and LBL from 4 years ago is $17,500. My quote for an absolutely excellent surgeon in TJ, MX from last year is $16500.00 but also includes hospital stay/medical treatment staff stay at Plaza Hotel for 9 days/meals, arm lift and breast lift with implants to go with the LBL and FDL tummy tuck. I sure would chose to recover at home in my own comfort zone and not travel while recovering if OHSU can still do this price. I may need to consider this...
