Obera Gastric Balloon-BEST DECISION EVER!!

I had Obera removed yesterday 2 months early. I had continuous vomiting and I felt absolutely miserable. I have no idea why this happened 3 months into having the balloon inserted. My final weight is 149 which I’m incredibly happy with. I’ll continue on to my weight loss goal of 125 on Jenny Craig. I’m used to eating next to nothing so this should be fairly easy.

My struggle with weight loss is a bit different from the norm. All my life, I was extremely fit, perhaps a bit too skinny. I stayed at 5 ‘2’ 110 pounds until I was 45 years old. I had 2 kids never experienced weight gain problems until I divorced and remarried a controlling man. My life was miserable. I developed a deep frustration and became utterly depressed. All the activities that previously brought me joy became overwhelming. I started to gain weight and with each pound that I gained I felt that the real me was being cemented down into oblivion. In a few short years I went from 110 to 189. I tried every diet but always failed. I separated from my husband and thought that my weight problems would end but that was not true. I came cross information about Obera and thought I would try it. On October 19, 2017 I had the Obera balloon inserted. The first 2 weeks were really tough!! Vomiting nonstop. Initially I thought I would only need a long weekend to recover...boy was I wrong!! I returned to work after 2 weeks of recovery. There was a point I thought I couldn’t continue with the balloon and thought about having it removed. I’m so glad that I pushed through!! I’m learning so much about portion control. I’ve lost 20 pounds so far. My complexion is amazing and my acne problems have disappeared. A few odd changes are that I have an intense aversion to diet soda and coffee. I’ve been addicted to both for years. I will post pictures when I reach 150pds. Obera isn’t easy by any means BUT IT WORKS!! If you decide to have it done you must make sure and start on Omeprizol a week before procedure and continue with all the medication as directed by your physician. Good luck!!
