Orange Peel Skin Post-Plasma Pen

Hello!
I had Plasma Pen done on both cheeks for rolling and box scars left by cystic acne.
So far, I’m concerned due to orange-peel/golf-ball texture left behind. I don’t know if it will go away. It makes makeup look very bad. Not wearing any looks worse. I am only 9 days post-treatment, but I didn’t go into a scar removal or augmentation procedure for even more scars :(
This was recommended by the MedSpa I saw; prior to, I’d never heard of it.
I had several laser treatments, chemical peels, and LED therapy years before which none worked.
Time will tell.

Dont rate it after only 9 days. I have read it can take even 2 to 3 weeks of healimg time. Buy yourself some LaRoche-Posay healing water. Regular water dries your skin out, this is ph balanced and heals skin after pricedures. Use as often as you wish, its soothing, fortified with antioxidents and is the proper ph your skin needs. I wish you well, Ive seen great after pics and am considering having this done myself. Keep us updated on your progress.

Hi! Hope your procedure gives you great results! I booked an appointment to get Plasma Pen on my mid- and lower face but I'm worried about trying to keep my skin out of the sun. Sunglasses won't do it! How have you dealt with this issue?

I luckily don’t have to go out in the sun much during work hours, but SPF 50 and a hat that shades the face!

I'll look forward to seeing your results. I'm scheduled to do my face this summer.

Hi there! How is your face doing? Would you mind giving a pic update on the "orange peel" skin? Has the collagen kicked in? I am getting this done on Thursday :) I can see your face healing each day in the pics, I think it looks great!

Hello!
So, I still had some patches of marks - mostly around my cheekbones and mouth. I got a TCA Level 3 peel per the direction of my provider (same provider who did my plasma pen). My face is a little gross at the moment given my peel was just two days ago. I’ll post once this heals :)
No collagen production yet, though. Provider said that should kick in over the next two weeks or so

Scarring hasn’t improved; I still have marks from the pen.
Some scarring even seems worse.
I am not impressed with this procedure as I don’t feel it did any good at all. My skin isn’t “changing” and for the downtime and the money, I’m incredibly disappointed.

I am an Esthetician who performs Plasma Fibroblast treatments and I've had extensive scar and acne scar training. My question is this; did your practitioner treat each scar individually? Or did they just do an overall dot pattern?
With acne, you need to go into each acne scar and do a few blasts around the side wall. This will break up each acne scar, obliterating the old collagen and (hopefully) the tethers which bind it to deeper structures. Then you produce new collagen which smooths out replacing the scar. Therefore lifting the skin up to the same level as surrounding skin. Personally, I would have treated each boxcar scar first, gotten them to raise up, then 4-6 weeks later, do an overall smoothing of the skin.
Its a very great treatment if done correctly. I am so sorry they did such a disappointing job.

Hi there!
So, no. She did not. She focused on scars more, but this was all at once and only one treatment.
I had a TCA (3) peel after that kind of helped, but the scars show no improvement.
I should’ve walked out when I saw she only had the training within the year and didn’t have before/after photos to share; I think I was her 3rd or 4th client — but she had a WALL of other certifications so I thought, well, she’s done extensive training and knows skin. My bad.
I really wanted it to work.
Maybe I’ll go to Raleigh and try there. No one else does it in my area locally.

Had your skin healed any better? Do you still have the indentations from the dots? And how long has it been?

I still have indentations. My face is no better, and I feel like it is worse.
I got my treatment done on 2/14.
