I am a 49 year old female and had my first facelift done about 2 years ago... the women in my family have early saggy. Within a year after my first facelift my skin was droopy and saggy again! After much researching (too little too late) I realized that the first Dr didn't do lifting of my muscle just my skin. So this time around after extensive research I found Dr Charles Kim. My best friend had surgery from him with beautiful results so I had several consults with him and his consultant. I decided to go ahead with the surgery and this time around my experience was completely different. This time it wasn't a quickie surgery and recovery, I can tell that it wasn't just a superficial pull of my skin.
Right after the surgery I just slept and rested for the first 2 days, it was more uncomfortable than painful but I just don't handle anesthesia well. At the 3rd or 4th day I felt good enough to visit my mom but my face was still wrapped up and a bit swollen so that was the extent of my outing. At a week Dr Kim took some of my stitches out and I felt so great I went out to lunch and shopping at the mall (incognito). He had me return about 4 days later and removed the rest of the stitches that were ready to come out. After that I kept improving and at about 3 weeks I was out for functions and social outings.
I waited a year before I decided if I'm hapy with this facelift...I was hoping I wouldn't end up saggy and droopy again and I still look fantastic!!! My scars are virtually impossible to find and friends right up next to me never even notice them.
I was foolish my first time around to trust a smooth talking Dr but I learned a very expensive lesson and now my sister has chosen to do the surgery with Dr Kim as well. She is 2 months out and looks so much younger and feels so confident. She is happier than I've seen her in years.
Dr Kim's stitching skills are amazing, his bedside manner is that of an angel in medical clothes-so kind and patient and gentle. He is so knowledgeable and professional, he is truly a gifted surgeon.
