I am now 3 weeks post op and although I am thrilled with the results I have to say the recovery has not been as smooth as I had hoped. Dont get me wrong I would do it again in a second. I am 35 with 2 little boys (3 and 1) I have always had large uneven breasts. Before my reduction I was a 32ff, at 5'5 and 135lbs that was just too much! I live in Canada and my surgery was covered, although I did opt for a lipo assisted reduction ( had alot of tissue under the arms and on the sides of my boobs which the lipo took care of!!). The lipo itself wasnt covered, that cost $1000. When I woke up from surgery I felt great, I was so happy and didnt really have any pain (although I was on some crazy meds!). For the next couple of days i was in a daze due to the meds, so much so that I had to stop taking them in the day time because I couldnt think straight. I guess for me the swelling was the worst. the right breast was alot more swollen (although compared to how uneven I was before It didnt look that bad lol). I kept putting ice on it but the swelling didnt go down. I went to see my ps at 2 weeks post op and she informed my it was fluid (aka blood from the op) she removed 60cc's of fluid and instantly my breast felt softer and looked smaller. I went back again today and she removed another 20cc's. I have to go back in 2 weeks to check for more. I was actually happy that there was a reason for my swelling, I was worried i might uneven for ever more. I have had 2 c-sections but I have to say this has been a more difficult recovery. I think what suprised me most was how tired I feel from doing the smallest things. But each day is getting better and my boobs look amazing! Yesterday I bought 34c bra and couldnt believe it fit me! I was afraid that since my boobs have defined me for so long I would somehow not feel myself, but I was wrong, even with the difficult healing I feel better than I have in years. My clothes fit me, I walk straighter I feel happier. I didnt write this post to frighten anyone, obviously this is just my experience but I wanted to be honest. As i said above I would do it again in a second. Oh, and for the first week or so I was so afraid to take my bra off because i felt like they would fall down, It seemed amazing to my that after having droopy boobs for so long these actually stayed in place by themselves. This site has been very helpful and im so glad i stumbled across it! I will be posting some pics soon.
