Like most people seeking this treatment I maintain a stable weight and excersize. I am unhappy with how my weight is distributed no matter how thin I am. I’m looking forward to not thinking about the appearance of my stomach as it’s been on my min since puberty.
Some info on prep the clinic gave me that I had not seen elsewhere:
I’m required to stop taking birth control two weeks before surgery
No Motrin or most pain killers one week before surgery
Take a natural supplement called arnica starting two days before to help with bruising
I have to shower with a special wash starting two days before surgery
Items I bought on my own for after surgery:
Extra compression garments
A tray for bed or my lap as I have a needy dog that loves to jump on my stomach
Some cleansing teas
Lanicane for itching
Silicone pads for scarring

Yesterday was the big day!
elisenApril 6, 2018
Well it’s done now and down to healing. Yesterday went very well. All of the nurses and staff were wonderful. I can’t say enough about the care I received at Dr.Shenkers office. They really are as caring and professional as they come.
The day started with some pictures, then some basic tests and a thorough consult with Dr.Nicholos(the one putting me under). Then Dr.Shenker drew lines on my stomach and I had a chance to express any concents and ask questions.
Waking up after surgery was actually the most difficult part for me. It was like I could not sleep or stay away and I found it really uncomfortable. Thankfully it only lasted about forty minutes and the nurses were very assuring. They even brought my husband up for a quick visit.
I was already in my compression garment and we did a run down of what to expect that night. Pain at this point was only around a 3 or 4. I was surprised to learn only 3 incisions were made instead of four. Hopefully that ends up being a good thing and does not affect my results. I am a bit nervous about my flanks because I can’t wrap my head around how he got to them from the front haha.
Later that night we notice I had bled through my garment and when we changed it my husband and I both panicked at the large amount of fluid coming out...it also made me quite dizzy. But later when the doctor called to check in he said it was totally normal.
My pain is only terribly bad when I stand up and I did manage to sleep on my side for a bit last night(my preferred position)
Today(day after surgery) I had a follow up in morning and everything was normal. I am quite swollen in my public area which I find disturbing but I know is normal. I am a bit squeamish still so I cold not bare to look at my stomach but my husband said it is quite bruised.
I managed to have a shower today which went better than expected.
Hopefully I can take a picture soon for you folks!

Day three

I managed to move around for a few hours today. My back was getting sore from laying and sitting. My pain isn’t bad at all however I feel weak when walking. As you can see I have lots of bruising and swelling. It’s quite uneven. The bruising and swelling has even gone into my breasts, making one larger than the other.
All drainage and discharge seems to have stopped.
