Need a refinement of my lower tray.

Maureen T.
This is TRAY #2.I am catching my tongue with my lower tray.I have two missing molars and the tray is moulded in where I have the gap. Periodically my tongue will be drawn under and be pinched. I remove my tray until I have relief prn. My next t step was to fill the gap with small piece of cotton for night only and remove in AM. Will check with my dentist if there can be a refinement done. STAY TUNE.:(

Wow!  That sounds very uncomfortable :(.  I wish you could upload a picture of your tray with those molars molded in.  I'm not sure I'm visualizing that right.  And where are you putting the cotton?

Yes ,I also need how to transfer my pictures to your site. It sound easy but . I am going to my dentist this afternoon. The folded area there is a gap in the tray where my molars should be.

Hi Maureen, Tried to send a comment earlier, but not sure if it worked. I'm a 61 year old English lady, also going through Invisalign treatment. I had double jaw surgery and genioplasty in November to cure my sleep apnoea. Now I'm on tray 14, as I gave to change trays every 5 days. I'd be interested to know more about how you are getting on. Do you have to wear elastics yet?

I forgot to say that I asked my orthodontist to file all the lower trays for me. It's the only way to prevent the tongue from being pinched.

Flu by Dentist done. Will have my first tx. on Thursday. Should I feel discomfort. IF SO ,WILL I need to take Advil prior?

I'm sorry--I'm confused :).  Did the dentist give you the flu?  And what's a tx?  Are you switching out trays on Thursday?  If so, you may require advil, but you won't require it beforehand.  It usually takes several hours for the discomfort to start.  Some people don't feel much discomfort at all.  If it's IPR (filing) you're having done, that's rarely a big deal.  I didn't even feel it.  Let me know if I guessed totally wrong and you're having something else done Thursday :D.

TX. means treatment.I will be switching out my trays.Yes on Thursday. No the dentist did not give me the flu. Thanks for the support.
