I was very excited about getting my sagging neck...
I was very excited about getting my sagging neck lifted before my 50th high school reunion. It was relatively painless, but I was greatly disappointed with the results as the left side of my face was higher than the right side; plus my left ear was numb. After 3 weeks the doctor told me to wait until October to see if the two sides of my face were more "in line." I also was worried about my left ear being numb. He told me to come back in October to look at the disparity between the two sides of my face. He performed liposuction on the right side of my face and removed some skin, but did not "lift" my face as was originally done. I asked him why not, since that was what was needed and all he said was, "that's a much more involved procedure." Well, I paid $5,000, why not get "more involved" if you didn't do it right the first time? Anyway, it improved the balanced look of my face, but didn't entirely fix it. My ear is still numb, including part of the left side of my face. He then told me that it may take "years" for the feeling to come back! I have become accustomed to feeling numb on that side of my face; and when I look in the mirror, I try not to compare the two sides, because it depresses me that I'd had such high hopes for the outcome, and now I have an "asymmetrical" face and there's nothing I can do about it. I don't have another $5,000 to throw at some plastic surgeon with possibly dubious results....maybe I'd come out even worse....I don't want to take any more chances. I also have a bulge, like a tendon, at the back of my neck on the left side when I turn my head to the right. That doesn't happen when I turn my head to the left. This doctor screwed up something on my left side and I've got to live with it. I would never recommend this "corporate surgery mill" to anyone, and I have been vocal about it.

I've said enough already about him. He did an inadequate job by making one side of my face higher than the other and not being willing to re-do the surgery on my right side to even it up with the left side. The "liposuction" did not do it adequately, only took some of the "puffiness" away.
