Well the banding is here, but only on the right hand side of my neck, strangely. It's so ugly and when I see dr
Machida I'm going to ask about having a touch up/redo. I didn't have surgery and take time off of my life to have this ugly banding still visible.
I have botoxed the bands, to no avail. Dr. Machida called the banding "adhesions" and wanted to see me at the 4 month mark, which is next Friday. I'm sure he will suggest a course of action at that time. Either that or he will say "That's the way things go" and that will be that. I'm not sure.
New update in one week.

Thanks for the update. Sorry you are going through this!
Sorry..... I'm 4 weeks out and am having a similar problem. Let me know what your surgeon says. Xo
Hey there! Just curious how long before your neck softened? I feel like a rubber doll and still bruised
How are you doing? Hoping to hear if your issues have resolved.
Hi, just checking in with you. I’m sure your surgeon is correcting the problem. I’ll pm you

Before and after comparison photos

Hello friends, here are my latest photos.
Despite vertical neck banding having returned (see my last post) it's important to show that this surgery removed a lot of extra skin that was "bagging" around my neck. This was super obvious when I would look down, catching my reflection in the glass of my phone or if someone took a photo of me from the side.
I have since had filler in my lips, so that will look different, but other than my eyebrows I have no make up on in these photos.
I dont know what to tell you about the vertical bands as I dont see Dr. M til the end of this month. I had the bands noticed and they have relaxed somewhat, but they are still there. I do modeling so I cant have ugly bands on my neck during photoshoots where everything sticks out 1000%
I had surgery so I wouldn't have to do neck botox for years anymore. And now I back to spending hundreds a month AGAIN. I had a CORSET PLATYSMAPLASTY, there should be no bands.

Your entire journal has been incredible information. Thanks for so much detail. I’m 53 and have been research lower neck lift. Platysmal bands have always been an issue for me and I’ve been tried Botox around them and it didn’t help, in my case. I don’t want to waste money on that so I will save for surgery.

Where do you go from here now that you see the bands and lumpiness?

Thanks and hope this works out to be all that you envisioned.
Ugh, U too have the banding-we will see what happens after my recovery. You still look very beautiful!
It's the worst and definitely the most disappointing to see the vanding return.
You still look so pretty, but I do understand what your saying.
These photos shown from different angles are by far the most helpful on this site in terms of showing the results of a necklift. Cannot thank you enough for your detailed review. I know the neck bands are bothering you but they're not noticeable AT ALL to the rest of us! You look fantastic!

3 months post - very upset about returned banding

It's only on one side.
Visible ALL THE TIME.
I had surgery so that I would not see banding, so as you can imagine I'm very upset that it's visible all the time again.
I followed the instructions to the letter, including no exercise other than walking for over 2 months, so this shouldn't be happening.

You are so beautiful, but I do see the bands. I would be frustrated and disappointed, too. Does the doctor offer any suggestions? I was thinking of consulting with him - but I want to see how he handles your setback. Please keep us posted.
I seriously don't think you can say you followed the instructions to the letter. You removed your pressure bandage the very first night because it was too tight. They are tight for a reason.
Please do keep us updated! I feel for you and am very curious about the doctor's response as he is on my short list of doctors I'd like to see for a consultation. So far it seems like you and the doctor have been very proactive throughout your journey; I hope that continues.
I have yet to interact with any PS that admits anything nor any wrongdoing- good luck
Hi, please come in and let me take a look at this.
