Nothing but the best things to say about this...
WORTH IT$50,000
Nothing but the best things to say about this journey, process and doctor. No complaints and I am 6 1/2 years post op. I reasearched hard from Lapband and ended up finding DS to be for me. Dr. Anthone and his staff were nothing short of helpful, compassionate and thorough. I am able to reach out to him when needed and have done so over the years. No complications and no complaints. Wonderful experience.

***Aetna insurance had me jump through hoops for over six months, it took them one month to approve me (on 1st attempt) AND they paid for my surgery.

Hi, I'm in the process of getting the surgery. How much total weight did you lose in the first year?

Wow. Incredible! My surgeon recommended the DS, and I'm a bit concerned about it because of the malabsorption aspect that is similar to bypass. If it is not too personal, I wanted to ask about your pregnancy, and if you experienced any complications from it - fertility or otherwise. For me this is probably my biggest concern, and I wouldn't want to compromise a healthy future pregnancy just to have a faster loss. Any insight would be great. Thanks for sharing and all the updates!
Hey there! Welcome, and thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. Congratulations! What an awesome result :) You look incredible. How long did it take you to reach your ideal weight?
Hi Sheila- It was very fast- I lost it in less than a year for sure (maybe 10 months for 150# loss) . And thank you for your kind words! :)
Wow! That's amazing! I'm so glad you found the whole process a success. Did you find the actual procedure to be painful at all?
I did have it open instead of laproscopic and for me, I don't heal all so fast from surgeries. Even though I was in my early 30's, it is just how I am. I found the recovery to be very difficult for me. But, it was primarily the incision area and the nausea that was bad for me. I know people who have had DS done laproscopically and they are on fb that night and all happy. I went home on day 4 or 5 and thought I was ready, but I wasn't. Dr. Anthone warned me I would have buyers remorse initially and I did. Since all has passed, I would do it again. The benefits are that substantial. Thanks for asking! :)
Got it, thanks! And thank you for your update. It's good to know you'd go through the procedure again. Short term pain really paid off for you :) You look absolutely fantastic!
