My motivation for doing this Mommy Makeover was to help me feel better about myself. I have battled my weight my entire life....I remember stepping on the scales in 3rd grade and weighting 103#...boy did I cry...was made fun of my entire life and moved every year to a new town unable to put any roots down, always the fat girl, poor girl and outcast at every school. Battled my weight even while in the UNited States Army Reserves. This was just a gift to myself for being a mommy of six children and the wear and tear the pregnancies, nursing and yo-yo weight gain and loss put on my body. I had lap band surgery performed Aug. 2009 to use as a tool to help keep my weight in check....it is still a daily battle but now I have another tool to help me. I really pondered if it was vain and sinful for me to go through with this procedure....I decided that it was for me...and a reward....not for anyone else to enjoy but my husband and I. So here are a few photos of before and after....tomorrow is my 1st PO check. I'll keep you posted all posted and wish you ladies the best!!

Wow! The award for the most awesome sag pix... don't you just love 'before' pix? Trust me, got some sad ones of my own on my blog too. But I do love yours- they're so artistic with all the curves. :) And you'll appreciate them even more when you're 3.5mos out like I am! Lol. Congrats to making it on the flat side! Can't wait to see more 'after' pix! :)

A better investment than a new car, is what I say! Thank you so much for sharing your experience and great photos! How are you feeling right now?

To be honest the only discomfort I have had with this whole thing is the abdominalplasty. ...mainly muscle repair....it definitely trumps all pain.

Good for you.

I wish I could afford to do this. I'm proud of you. And Idk you but I know how hard nursing is mentally and physically especially. I nursed 4 boys and my poor floppy bunny ears! Haha. I'm done with having more babies and I think my husband would enjoy a go at what's left finally! Poor thing! Haja. Honestly I don't think he cares what they look like anymore as long as he can finally claim "property" ownership.

Thank you Shantell....you're so kind. I would have never thought of r lever being able to do this either....but we just sat a goal and began to work towards it. I would NEVER trade my years of lovinglying holding and nursing my babies! Crazy...but dreamt of the day I got to lovingly bond with them....so precious! But now I'm in a new season of my life and I hope to enjoy this as well. My Husband just like yours could have cared less...but me on the other hand just vainly wishe'd to ne a bit perkier....We love to go kayaking in the summer and I just wanted to feel betier .....didn't need to....just vainity. That is one reason I struggled with it so much spiritual ly...but then came to the conclusion that their are a lot of things we do out of vanity...just this is more permanent and expensive. I do however think that it wasn't sinful for me to do and I'll be happy when all healed up....No its not perfect...but it wasn't to start with either. You are right in that this is an interesting site...neat to see and hear other people's stories. Once again thank you for your kind words!

It's been a roller coaster ride! It took nine tries to even get the IV started! In my psst surgeries they have used the ultrasound unit to find a good vein. The anesthesiologist said they may need to send me home to dehydrate and try for another day....couldn't believe it! All the planning and all...when she finally got the IV started couldn't help but have a few tears flow!....releaf! Been busy today....got two of my Christmas Trees up....however have overdone it....need to take it more easy! My Sweet little Rebecca (9) stayed right by my side and helped me....what a Sweetheart!

3 weeks post op

I am now 3 weeks post op....I removed my last drain last night ....so glad to be rid of them! I returned back to work last week and worked full days mon. & tues.....I just worked about 6 hours wed. & this day bc my husband and Co workey ganeed up against me thinking I was over doing it....And true I was. I'm tough and could do it but my body suffers. I was working on my feet all day as a dental assistant in the hygiene department last week. Thank you to my husband for watching out for me. My legs and ankles are still swelling quite a bit....and boy I sure do tire easily....definite don't like to carry anything to heavy. Sometimes my purse feels like it's too much! I will hit it full force next week! I took some pictures to share....I think my surgeon did a fabulous job on my stomache....my breast howevery never look the same....sometimes one appears larger than the other....I've even gone so far as to measure with a tape measurer.....my hus band thinks it's just my chest wall due to the scoliosis. I am happy though for the changes....still have weight to lose....put on about 6 pounds after surgery....but got to allow more healing time yet.

Your post op looks fantastic! Your PS did a great job! I really liked how he made the incisions so thin and stitched them very neatly. Take it easy so you can heal well. You don't want a long drawn out recovery which is what you'll get if you keep working so hard. So rest a lot - there'll be plenty of time for you to be a workaholic once you heal :) Happy healing!

I've been having some trouble with updates on my RS blog (or it could just be MY "extensive" RS blog that's rejecting them) but I thought I'd post a little message on everyone's blog I've been following to keep in touch... so MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you are healing well and may you enjoy your new transformation as the best gift to yourself for this holiday! :)
