I am a 27yo mother of two boys, and my pregnancies left me with excess skin on my stomach. This made me feel unattractive, and hesitant during intimacy with my husband. I decided to get the TT to help with my self-confidence. After already having done one procedure with my surgeon (breast augmentation) I decided to stick with him for my TT as well. He talked me through every step of the procedure, explained where the incision would be, and how my body would look and feel through the healing process. The day of surgery, I woke up from anesthesia feeling like I had been hit by a truck. My tummy tuck was done with no muscle repair, and no drains. It's hard to explain the pain, but it felt like I had an extremely bad carpet burn underneath my skin, from my sternum to my pubic bone. *sidenote-I would definitely invest in a cheap walker to help you get up and around!*. I was terrified to take my first shower after the surgery because of pain, but in fact, the water and soap didn't bother my incisions at all. They were all numb! I was terrified of what my stomach looked like when my steri-strips fell off. I had a huge knot-like wad of skin in the middle part of my incision (this was where the skin from my old belly button was sewn together), and I had two large knots on either end of my incision. After a couple of weeks, I was able to get moving around standing almost straight, and with minimal core pain. I am now almost 6 weeks post-op and I couldn't be more thrilled with my decision! Everything is slowly starting to smooth out and I'm getting an idea of what the final result will be! I do still have some 'wrinkles' around my belly button and in the middle of my incision (I have an opening from swelling that is slowly healing) but it's all looking amazing!
