This was taken after my third silicon sheet treatment. I don't like the top because the scar is thicker.

Really bummed ... left pic is right after revision, right pic taken today. With this result I would never have gone through the original surgery. Not worth $8k

I feel your pain. I spent 8k as well and developed hypertrophic scars much like yours. My PS did not think a scar revision was the best option. He feared the scars would recur. Instead, he referred me to a derm to try kenalog injections and pulse dye laser. Unfortunately, I can't afford the treatments at present.
Imho, your scars have improved significantly after revision based on your initial photos. May I ask, what did you do in recovery phase second time around? According to the dermatologist, if I opted scar revision surgery, he advised to initiate laser and steroid injection very early within first 3 weeks as part of healing.

I didn't do anything different because the initial scar problems was due to cotton fibers attached to the internal sutures. Within 10 days of my breast lift surgery I started having issues. I uses aquaphor as my PS suggested. Then silicon sheeting and a silicon gel with spf in it. Since my other side healed very well this side should have, too (IMO). If there hadn't been any cotton internally I wouldn't have this issue.

:( You're right, doesn't make sense one side healed without any issue. I would research PDL. This is a vascular specific laser that targets redness. I'm considering doing 4 sessions (very expensive) and will post before & after.

First of all it really doesn't look that bad. Secondly you need to give it more time. It can take up to 18 months scars to completely heal .... and they will get only get better each year. I see you were using coconut oil and Aquaphor. Have you tried scar sheets?

Just curious how many months postop were you when you had the scar revision? I will say it's definitely an improvement to your before photos... and it will only get better with time. :-)

They usually recommend you wait 6 to 12 months before doing a scar revision. I suppose your doctor thought your scars were stable enough to revise.
Are you still doing any kind of scar therapy? Some doctors recommend scar therapy for up to a year. They say as long as the scar is red it's still in the healing process. I'm almost 6 months PO and I'm still using silicone sheets and biocorneum.

Great! So it's to hang in there and just give it more time. What I'm seeing with your scars is not unusual for eight months PO.
I'm older and I've had a total of three augmentations and one breast lift. So I have a lot of experience with scars. My very first augmentation I had hypertrophic scars that needed to be surgically revised. I didn't know anything about scar therapy back then. On my second augmentation my scars faded to thin white lines... and after a few years they were barely visible.

It definitely looks better but is it always going to be red?

My scars faded after one year. Be patient, in a few months, they will be almost invisible !

Omg...your scars look amazing...I recently had a breast reduction. My breasts where so swollen and heavy after; breasts took long time to heal after tubes where removed. I am needing a scar revision surgery to correct. I see my PS in December, will discuss with him.

After you heal completely and it's still red, you can try laser treatments to reduce the redness.
