12 Days Pre-Op

I can't believe it's almost here. I have been in major preparation mode. I have my post surgical garments. I will post pics of what I have. I am super short waisted so I purchased both the long and short version of the binder so I'd have what I need. It's so hard going into this to know what will be the most comfortable. I have several friends who've had breast lifts that love the Hanes front closure bras. I'll post a pic of those as well. Also I have a history of being anemic so for prep I have gotten back on my iron, started vitamin C and will start both arnica and bromelain a few days before surgery to help with bruising and inflammation.
Unrelated I have been working so hard to get my house in order prior to surgery. We have 3 kids that are just starting back to school so I have purged and organized kiddos clothes, my office, and basically the entire house. Hopefully being organized will help me not feel so overwhelmed and help the hubby while I'm down and not able to help. 12 days to go!

Surgery scheduled!

I am officially scheduled for surgery on August 22 and I am so excited! I’m sure lol get nervous as it gets closer but right now I’m just super excited. It’s something I’ve wanted for so long that I just never thought would actually happen. I am so glad I am taking this opportunity to do something for myself. I’m doing a full tummy tuck (drainless) with a breast lift and augmentation. We are looking at 500 cc but I’m going back in for one more consultation to make the final decision on size. I’ve been torn because I don’t want to go larger, I’m a 36D to 36DD. It’s hard to know exactly how much they’ll remove and how much it would take me to keep the same size, one doctors guess was around 450. On the flip side I’d really like to have full pretty breasts and the bigger the implant the more full they will look. We are doing the “gummy” which is a thicker consistency to help with fullness on the upper part of the breast. I’ll try and remember to update after my next update with the actual name of implants etc.

Oklahoma City Mommy Makeover

I have never had what I would call perky breasts but before kids was always pretty content with them. After nursing two kiddos it’s like they became deflated balloons saying worse than I cold have ever imagined. Plus two c-sections and a ten pound baby left my stomach looking basically pregnant and with a mom pooch at the bottom. It’s super obvious in most of my pants. I have gone for consults with DrJustin Jones whom I liked (wouldn’t say I had warm fuzzy feelings with him but he was nice enough. Told me a lift with implants and a mini tummy tuck wold get me where I want to be. The price they quoted was approximately $13,000. I then had a consult with Dr. Tim Love’s office, you meet his nurse first. She was super kind and helpful. She did not think a mini tummy tuck would get me where’s want to be which was what I was afraid of. Then they sent in the girl who does the quotes and that is where it went downhill for me. The initial quote was $21,400 and when she saw this surprised me she asked what I thought it would be. I said $10,000 to $13,000. So she starts knocking off this fee and marking out this other fee. Then gets out a calculator and says she’s not sure Dr Love would approve it but if she would get to “this” number would that work. She got down to $18,400. I seriously felt like I was talking to a used car dealer as I have had one do literally the exact same thing with a calculator. So my next consult was with Dr Mike Gonce. He spent by far the most amount of time examining my breasts. He said no way would a tummy tuck have the results I was looking for, I have way too much loose skin and I would not be happy in the long run with not tightening my upper abdominal muscles. He also does not do drains for tummy tucks. He spent a long time with me helping me try on implants and explaining what results the different sizes would do for my breasts. I do not want to go bigger but I also really want the fullness on top so I compromised on a smaller size with a grade two implant (thicker consistency). When we got to the quote it was $14,000 for full tummy tuck, hip lipo, breast lift and upgraded implants. I have decided to go with Dr. Gonce. I immediately felt comfortable with him and we of course had already done quite a bit of research on him prior to scheduling the appointment. I am now just trying to work out a date between our summer plans and work. I am starting to starting to get excited at the thought of bras fitting, bathing suits fitting and getting rid of my saggy mom bod.
