Neurofibroma Removal - Ogden, UT

I hope this is an appropriate place to put this review. There doesn't seem to be a fibroma-related forum.
I have neurofibrmatosis, type I. I will get fibromas growing whenever, wherever for as long as I live. Some of these fibromas are similar in looks to moles, but are pinker in color. I had quite a few off a few years ago with Dr. Barnett, but have been without insurance for a few years so I put it in the back of my mind. Recently, I've had a few that have grown enough to bother me so I went to see Dr. Barnett again.
My consultation was quick and I scheduled an appointment for 7/10 to get the fibromas cut off. Because of the location of these fibromas, I wasn't go to have to be sedated and could save quite a bit of money.
I went in today and had five neurofibromas removed from my upper body. Each of these were approximately the size of an eraser-head: one below my left breast, one on my left nipple, one on the inner part of my belly button, and two on my right arm. The whole process today took less than an hour from check-in to finish.
Dr. Barnett and his assistant were very professional and kind. I received Lidocaine (numbing shots) in each fibroma and barely felt anything, including the shots to numb me. He cut each fibroma off and then stitched it closed. I have an appointment in a week to get my stitches out and that was that.
I'll post some photos in a few days of the stitched sites.

Hi cabbit, thank you for posting! Glad your surgery went well and that are you are healing. Yes, please post your after shots when you can!
Are the fibromas a surface growth or do they grow deeper into the skin?

I had some removed from my arms and torso a few years ago; the scars are nice and tiny now. The worst part for me is just waiting for the angry red scar to fade.

Five days post removal.
I've been feeling very itchy at my removal sites. Apologies for the weird angles on the belly button picture. Photographing ones own belly button is a little awkward. For the most part, I've resisted temptation. Tonight, I'm sharing a few photos and I'll post again Monday when the stitches come out.
Btw, stitches in your nipple hurt. No picks of those because I'm a little shy.

What helps with the itching? Ointments, Vaseline?

I haven't really tried anything for the itching. I did my best to keep them covered with band-aids to keep myself from irritating the skin.

No more stitches!
All righty, so I went to the office to have the stitches removed today! It only took a few minutes and I was free from those itchy things. I will say my skin is healing well and I'm excited to see how they'll heal.
I'll post again in two weeks or so for a progress update!

Yay, congrats to the stitch removal!

I felt like this forum was the closest to the fibroma removal, even though it isn't really... Where were your fibromas? Do you have a review here too?
