50 YO Mom of Eight Loses 20 Pounds and Her Boobies

I'm turning 50 in June. In February, after looking at myself and hating my reflection (still), I decided to do something about it. I decided to lose 20 pounds as my gift to myself for my upcoming birthday. I'm down 15 pounds so far. One night about two weeks ago, my husband hugged me close and said that while he was proud of me for losing the weight, he misses my boobies.
I've been a 38DD for the last 10 years. He said that we could figure out a way to finance it, if I decided I wanted to give the girls a little lift. Honestly, I had never before considered any type of augmentation surgery. I had plenty of boobies. Until now. Sure enough, my boobs have shrunken to two empty sacs sitting sadly on my chest. I'd guess I'm a 34 C. A very saggy C, to be honest.
At first, I was offended and hurt. I didn't think he wanted me anymore. He assured me he'd love me no matter what my chest looks like. After talking it through with a girlfriend who just completed a second breast augmentation and enlargement, I decided it might be just what I need. I realized that I could diet and exercise to lose weight, there was nothing I could do to fix my droopy girls.
Since we're planning a work conference/birthday trip to Vegas on June 8, I immediately began researching local docs. When I found Dr. Brzowski, he seemed like a perfect fit.
My feeling was proved the next day, when I spoke to his office. The soonest consultation appointment was June 5.
I explained my thoughts about a June 8 surgery date, and Anita searched for a time. I called back every day, until April 13. I called the office that morning, but they had no cancellations. Later that afternoon, Monet called to say someone had cancelled, and I could see the doctor in two hours. Just enough time for my husband to drive from the office, and for us to get to DR. B's.
The office staff was warm and friendly when we arrived, and answered all our questions. We didn't wait long to see the doctor and the surgical consultant.
Dr. B did a thorough exam of my breasts, measuring and talking me through the potential risks of any procedure. After a few questions about our hopes for the surgery, he made some recommendations regarding the surgery itself and the type of implant that would work best.
Given that my husband wants pendulous breasts with some heft, it's important to us that there is some natural looking movement.
Dr. B suggested a sub-pectoral solid gel implant and a lift. He explained I will be having a lollipop procedure, with an incision around the nipple and straight down the underside of the breast.
He also said I'd need to take a month off from work. I'm a self-employed massage therapist and yoga instructor, and I balked. He said that if I don't allow the muscle to heal, there could be some slippage of the implant. So. I'll be taking a month off. I'm creating a story for my weekly clients, as we live in a small town and I like to keep my personal business to myself.
After our consultation with the doctor, the surgical consultant met with us to talk about our final decision, costs and what to expect next.
Our next appointment, to select a size and discuss post op instructions, is May 25.
I'm nervous and very excited.

Wishing you the best! I also had a BL/BA so I know how you feel (i.e. excited and nervous). Do you know what size implants you’ll be getting? Any other details you have to share would be interesting to know.... :-)

I'm going in on May 25 to determine the size. I'm nervous and so excited all at the same time. I'm also a little scared. But this is finally something for me!

Awesome! I’m really excited for you! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask?! You can read through a few of our journeys on here to know what to expect. Each PS is a bit different w/their instructions slightly so just make sure to follow his/her directions carefully. I can’t wait to follow your progress. Good luck ❤️ Oh did you get a chance to look at their b&a photos of BL/BA?

Choosing a Size

Debreno
My appointment for sizing was moved from May 25 to the 22, which was great, because I've been so excited about the procedure.
For those who haven't yet done it, here is what to expect. They ask you to wear a tight fitting shirt, so you can get an idea of what you'll look like.
Marla brought several sizes of implants and a large bra. The bra was snug, and she slid the implants into place. A different size on each side, so we could compare.
After trying three or four various sizes, my husband and I agreed on a 540cc "gummy bear" implant.
Right now, I am a hollowed out 34D. I used to be a hefty 38DD. I'm guessing the size will be about 34DD, but full instead of deflated.
Got my meds and am nervously looking forward to June 8!

Five Days Post Surgery

Debreno
In the days leading up to the surgery, I was terrified. Mostly of the anesthesia, because I'd never experienced it before. I was also somewhat concerned with my pain levels. Glad to say, it all went off without a hitch.
We spent the first night post-op in a hotel nearby, since we live about an hour from where my procedure took place. I don't really remember much of that first day. My sweet hubby set an alarm on his phone to make sure he gave me the proper meds at the correct times. I'm alternating valium for muscle relaxing, norco for pain, and prescription strength motrin for pain.
Surgery was on a Friday and I was done after about three hours. On Saturday, we flew to Vegas, where hubby had a conference for a week. I thought it would be easier to recover and do nothing if I wasn't home, taking care of the kids and house by myself. Good call. If you are getting surgery, I would strongly recommend healing for the first week away from family, just so you aren't tempted to do everything yourself.
The first day post op, I couldn't move my arms, and felt a sharp, burning sensation near my right armpit. I suppose it was from the pocket created under the pec muscle.
Gradually, my range of motion has improved, and I'm able to move my arms. Still trying to take things slowly. And I'm down to a valium in the morning, a motrin in the afternoon, and the codone at bedtime.
The girls are slowly settling downward, so I'm hopeful that they'll look like real boobs at some point.
I had a melt down on day three, because I felt like a deformed freak, with two giant lumps on my chest, that look nothing like breasts. But they are slowly getting some shape to them. I think when they get all situated, I'll be very happy with the results. I'm already happy that they don't hang down to my belly button anymore!

Thank you! It's been almost two weeks, and I've got almost no pain. The girls are settling in nicely!

I know it's been a while but I'm so curious how your scars are looking. Can you post a pic?
