Taught my first yoga class post op

Today was a milestone for me. I'm a yoga instructor and a massage therapist, and as I've mentioned, I've been worried about not working for a month.
My surgery was ten days ago. Pain level has been pretty good. I'm off the hard stuff and using the Motrin when necessary.
Today, Monday, I was set to teach my first post-op yoga class. I teach a gentle, trauma informed style of yoga to a group of mostly retired, but very feisty ladies.
Class went well. I had some stiffness and limited range of motion in the outer pec area, which came as no surprise, since the implants sit directly under the muscle. I modified where I needed to, and let my class know that I was tending to some areas that needed extra attention.
Class went off without a hitch. I wore a baggy t-shirt, so as not to draw attention to my new twins, and nobody said anything.
I haven't spoken to my friends much about it, so far, only a couple of ladies know, and they have both done the same procedure. I'm a little nervous to come out of the closet, as it were.
All in all, things are settling in nicely. I go in later this week for a two week check up, and hopefully, I'll get the steri-strips off and be able to take my nightly bubble bath!

Five Days Post Surgery

In the days leading up to the surgery, I was terrified. Mostly of the anesthesia, because I'd never experienced it before. I was also somewhat concerned with my pain levels. Glad to say, it all went off without a hitch.
We spent the first night post-op in a hotel nearby, since we live about an hour from where my procedure took place. I don't really remember much of that first day. My sweet hubby set an alarm on his phone to make sure he gave me the proper meds at the correct times. I'm alternating valium for muscle relaxing, norco for pain, and prescription strength motrin for pain.
Surgery was on a Friday and I was done after about three hours. On Saturday, we flew to Vegas, where hubby had a conference for a week. I thought it would be easier to recover and do nothing if I wasn't home, taking care of the kids and house by myself. Good call. If you are getting surgery, I would strongly recommend healing for the first week away from family, just so you aren't tempted to do everything yourself.
The first day post op, I couldn't move my arms, and felt a sharp, burning sensation near my right armpit. I suppose it was from the pocket created under the pec muscle.
Gradually, my range of motion has improved, and I'm able to move my arms. Still trying to take things slowly. And I'm down to a valium in the morning, a motrin in the afternoon, and the codone at bedtime.
The girls are slowly settling downward, so I'm hopeful that they'll look like real boobs at some point.
I had a melt down on day three, because I felt like a deformed freak, with two giant lumps on my chest, that look nothing like breasts. But they are slowly getting some shape to them. I think when they get all situated, I'll be very happy with the results. I'm already happy that they don't hang down to my belly button anymore!

Choosing a Size

My appointment for sizing was moved from May 25 to the 22, which was great, because I've been so excited about the procedure.
For those who haven't yet done it, here is what to expect. They ask you to wear a tight fitting shirt, so you can get an idea of what you'll look like.
Marla brought several sizes of implants and a large bra. The bra was snug, and she slid the implants into place. A different size on each side, so we could compare.
After trying three or four various sizes, my husband and I agreed on a 540cc "gummy bear" implant.
Right now, I am a hollowed out 34D. I used to be a hefty 38DD. I'm guessing the size will be about 34DD, but full instead of deflated.
Got my meds and am nervously looking forward to June 8!
