IPL and rosacea update (4 IPL )

$300
I’ve done next IPL , it’s the 4th. After 3rd one it was hell, but then thing went ok. But after 2 weeks of relaxing without rosacea, pimples came back and sometimes flushing. But some time my face looked as it is healthy. I’m going to continue and I’ve read a lot of about solantra and I’m a bit scared ...so I’m considering it. Now I’m still looking for real cause of my rosacea. Stress is my trigger too. And some kinds of food. You I’ve got some problems with gut after stress, I think it’s functional problems. So friends I’m downloading update photos for you. All of them are 1,5 week after 3rd IPL , but my doctor said it is VBL ...I’m not sure about the type of this laser. I know just the capacity last time (22.03.2018) was between 16 and 18. Oh! Also I use protopik.

My name is Kate, I’m from Ukraine. I’m 31 year old, and I my perfect skin had been with me to those times as I got strange spots and after a while also pimples around my chin lips cheeks and eyes!!! It was 1 year ago. Lots of test, lots of problems with my gastrointestinal tract, with hormones. This was preceded by pneumonia as a complication of the flu and death of both parents. So, obviously I had a huge stress. I tried psychotherapy and homopathy. I recon it helps, but not cure for a short period. But I wanted immediate results and they didn’t happen to me. treatment did not help, it took 5-7 days of applying hormonal cream so that the hot flashes started, my face changed the temperature. Of course I threw out the hormonal cream. So I’ve reached the point when doctor say you you’ve got rosacea subtype 2. I changed three or four doctors. I tried maybe everything (except mirvaso and roa) I couldn’t stop reading about rosacea, hopefully I can do it in English. I said to myself I’m not going to give up I must return my Skin . Sounds crazy ????, but I really felt that way. So, I came across with an article about IPL, and my new doctor suggested me this procedure, of course there in Ukraine we don’t have equipment as in England , and my doctor noticed this, but I decided to try. I did it for three times. First time it was like aggravation of disease, it’s gone for 4-5 day. And almost all pimples gone, but just for a weak. Then after 3 weaks I did second one. And there was nothing, no inflammation , pimples were on their places, but skin was so dry and sensitive , it was as dry ground. In that period I was working hard on a project , I didn’t sleep well, drink water little , and when I was trying to prevent dryness I decided to try oil, it was fatal mistake. My rosacea again broke out. Was it overwork or infection in my pores? According to test I’ve got demodex and streptococcus are more than normal. All doctors don’t really pay attention on these tests. Then I was able to to calm down my rosacea, but unfortunately lots of new pimples occurred on my face. Now then I did my last one 27.02.2018. Doctor increased the flash output, and now I’ve got a burn on the face with pimples, pustules and a terrible redness. He said it’s ok. But I don’t think so, it does harm to my nerves. analyzing all that I’ve been doing for this year, I came to the conclusion that stress controls the rosacea. I do not know what will happen to my face, I just dream about passing consequences of IPL as quickly as possible. I pray to God that there won’t be any bad consequences after this procedure. Oh! Almost forget , today is the 6th day after IPL) I promise to update! And look forward to your experience!

I had IPL done 2 or 3 years ago just one time and now my skin is very dry and flaky. It wasn't dry before I had it done. I won't do it again.
IPL scarred my face. VBEam is good, but use an experienced doctor. You are beautiful and have gone through tremendous stress- be gentle with yourself, stay out of the sun, and have faith it will subside.
Hi, I feel for you..I’ve had same issues with rosacea & demodex, the struggle is real!! Recently, I’ve had some success with a prescription cream called Soolantra. It is for demodex/rosacea..it has been a miracle drug. It’s expensive,75$ with insurance. It’s a fairly new drug.I’ve also had good results with the VBeam laser, for redness & rosacea.Make sure u go to an experienced dr/derm.There is a few days downtime from bruising & swelling but worth it! Hope this helps,God Bless!!☺️
Soolantra is indeed an AWESOME drug!
Try Solodyn ( a slow release antibiotic), Soolantra (acream designed to get rid of Detmodex) and Aczone. This worked wonders on my rosacea, after years of the usual doxycycline and Metrogel doing absolutely nothing. And stress seems to be the only trigger for me.
This is not hormonal, rosacea or pimples. It is a histamine reaction from the laser. I had the same thing after my 1st treatment. I know that I have a histamine intollerance and got that hot flush feeling in my face that I immediately recognized as a histamine reaction. I then had red bumps and tiny pustules all over my face for two days. Using my prescription hydrocortisone cream 2x per day and taking Benadryl and Claritin - at thesame time, it cleared up very quickly. I don’t understand how very few doctors on here know what this is. Look up “hives after Pico Genesis” and you will see photos like yours. Apparently it is pretty common. I am going to take Benadryl before and after my next treatment and hopefully that will work. Cheers!
You can also have a histamine reaction to Demodex. I have the same kind of Rosacea and I know how maddening it can be, Kate. Like you, I also have gastrointestinal issues (along with asthma and anxiety) and there definitely seems to be a connection. Here's what has been working for me as far as getting Demodex under control - Selsun Extra Strength (Selenium Sulfide Lotion USP 2.5% w/w) Shampoo! After washing and drying my face, I carefully smooth about a nickel-sized amount of the shampoo onto my face, into my eyebrows and around my hairline. Pay extra attention to the crevice of your chin and around your nose and upper lip - work the Selsun into the skin and leave it on for 10 minutes before rinsing very well and following with a serum and hydrating moisturizer. (DO NOT get the Selsun in or around your eyes and only do this a couple of times a month). See if you can order the Riversol Anti-Redness Serum from Riversol.ca or Paula's Choice Redness Relief Repairing Serum and Redness Relief Moisturizer. Spectro Moisturizer for blemish-prone skin is a good one too. I am not a doctor, but through trial and error with my own Rosacea, this is what has worked. Increasing your intake of EFA (fish oil capsules) can also help lower inflammation of the pore/hair follicles and improve sebum quality long-term. Good luck and, by the way, you are absolutely beautiful!
