I am 54 years old and in my 4th year of menopause. Intercourse became progressively more uncomfortable as the years post menopause passed. Two years ago I started using Esterase cream with modest results: still quite painful intercourse with occasional bleeding. I began Mona Lisa Touch treatments on August 26th of 2016 and completed the 3rd treatment on December 2nd 2016 with no improvement at all. I had suspended use of Esterase prior to beginning MLT and the modest improvement that I'd had was lost as well. My physician through in an extra MLT session on the house (done on 3/28/17) as a good will gesture but no improvement was obtained. I also experience stress incontinence which was mentioned as potentially improved by MLT but have had no improvement in those symptoms either.
My intention here is not to be a Debbie Downer but this is an expensive treatment and in my research prior to beginning this process I read literally no stories of failure and the positive results were reported in the high 90th percentile. I just want to let women know that apparently, sometimes it does not result in any improvement of genitourinary symptoms. Hopefully I continue to be in the minority with my outcome; all the best in your own journeys !

I'm sorry it didn't work for you. I felt the same way as you when I completed my 3rd treatment. However, I read about another Realselfer who said keep trying and once you're passed the Initial discomfort, it should get better. And she was absolutely right. I told myself this was too important and I will not give up and just kept at it and it worked! I still experience minor discomfort at the opening, even using lubricant which passes in time, but no longer dryness or pain inside. I hope you will continue to improve as time goes on. Best of luck!

I am one year post Mona Lisa and I can't decide if it helped or not. The entrance still hurts at times and today I received a letter saying it was time for my 1 year top up. Undecided.

I too had 4 treatments with no change. Disappointed for sure.

I wanted to add a bit of an update. About 3 months ago, approximately 1 year after my first treatment, I began to have some marked improvement. I had resumed some sporadic use of Esterase cream and would try every few months to see if intercourse was possible. Around the end of August, 2017, I was able to with some mild to moderate pain, mostly at the entrance. I have not had the ‘annual touch up’ done.

Thanks for your honest review. It's interesting that all these rave reviews are from 1 time posters. I make it a point to trust the reviews of people who have been on here a while. Try the est-ring.
