Week 5 - Uneven Settling and Halter Tops

WORTH IT$7,950
Friday, September 15, 2017. Surgery was exactly 5 weeks ago on Friday, August 11
Not *much* to report his week:
1. Those random pain sensations in my boobs are gone. Same for the itching. Unless my bra band is resting on the incisions - then I itch.
2. If I look at my boobs only from a medial view (i.e. nipples to the middle of my body): they look beautiful - the perfect teardrop shape that I'd hoped for. BUT. If I look at a lateral view of my boobs (from the nipple to my side): umm...not so much. The inverted t incision area outward is hard and has not settled so 1/2 of my boob is great and the other/lateral 1/2 is boxy. I know, I know, it's still "early" in my healing process and those sides will settle, too, eventually. But it sure is nerve wracking during the waiting time!
3. Going to the gym for the first time in months tomorrow (I had let up about 2 months before surgery - fell off the wagon and subconscious anxiety helped me gain 15 pounds in the 2 months before my surgery :/ )! I will row and do some dead lifts, squats, and lunges. I have to get rid of that ugly fat between my boobs and sides (under the armpits). I included in a photo.
4. I just love wearing a halter top with no bra!
5. Still sleeping in a bra at night as precaution and to preserve my investment!
6. No running yet. When I get back from my trip to Norway, it will be the end of week 7 and at that point, even being overly cautious, running is okay. I will still wear 2 bras because old habits die hard and - again - protecting my investment. Dr. Park said that the worst thing to impact scarring would be boobs moving up and down.
7. Scars continue to heal nicely. I feel like I am perpetually massaging my boobs whenever I'm at home. But, ladies, you gotta do what you gotta do :)
**NOTE on Massaging** I notice that the vertical incision/scar on my right boob is pretty much FLAT already. My left vertical incision/scar is NEARLY flat but not as much and I realized that I ALWAYS start on my right side. Does the right side having just that much more time with the Bio Oil make a difference? Dunno. But to be safe, I am going to start out on my left side for few days and then change sides that I start on each massage session.

Just wanted to say you look great and are healing so nicely! Thank you for sharing your experience. I am still dealing with my insurance co. but am so looking forward to being where you are! :)
Thank you so much! I am happy to share the experience. I wish you the best with your surgery when you get your green light.
Thank you!
Hi! I think you have a pretty nice outcome. I had mine on 10/13. It's early for me, but am wondering about the sides too. How far does your anchor scar extend? Did you do lipo? I did not do lipo and he extended it to eliminate the sides, but I'm worried it wasn't enough. But like you, weight losss will help as I'm 5'5", 172 and went from a 36d to a c/d with 1160 grams removed

What Lies Beneath

Hard to believe I'm already one month post. Here is the latest in bullet form.
1. At my 3 week post appt, Dr. Park cleared me for full yoga with downward dogs and planks. Now that I'm at 4 weeks, I am cleared for sauna and underside bras. After 5 weeks (so next weekend), I will be able to row again and lift weights.
2. I was pretty diligent with the massaging and silicone tapes this last week, week 4. Dr. Park recommended massage 3x/day
3. I do morning with Bio Oil, noon is either with coconut oil - or I skip and leave silicone tape on all day. Evening is massage with Bio Oil again.
4. Posted a scar comparison photo. The incisions are flattening very well - the thickest parts now fell MUCH LESS "rope-y" BUT...
5. What lies beneath! Not sure when I will get used to feeling the internal sutures. There is A LOT going on beneath the surface, let me tell you! - knots of sutures and some feel like twigs. It's just...yucky.
6. On both breasts to the right of the middle/vertical incision underneath the boob is still tight and hasn't dropped. I'm just being patient, knowing it will come.
7. The "extra" on the outside near underarms is not swelling - it's skin and fat that my surgeon said will go down with weight loss. Of course.
8. Buying $6.99 and $12.99 bras and sports bras and pretty, wireless bras will never get old - hahaha :)
9. A few times, I have had a random, stabbing pain in a boob. It's just like an electric earthquake that happens and then a few seconds later is gone.
10. I've had a few "phantom" itches. My boob will itch - but it's no where I can touch! I guess it's phantom itching for some of those 3.5 lbs of tissue that was removed.
11. Not much itching anymore. Worse when bra band lies on incisions
12. Using New Gel+e silicone strips at night and then plane, medical silicone tape during the day time. Silicone pasties on the nips.
13. Have gone a couple of days with NO bras and it feels GREAT. Sleep nightly with a sports bra.
That's about it for now. OH. Very strange that shopping for bras now I'm looking for plunge to see some cleavage. I'm missing the cleavage I had when I was 35 and before massive weight gain. But... being able to go braless with beautiful halter tops is a great consolation prize.
