Hi!
I am booked to have hairline surgery with Dr. Kabaker in December. I know he is the very best so if I do go through with it I wouldn't want it to be with anyone else. He was awesome during the consult and his reviews are all excellent!

That being said, I am really really nervous about going through with it. If anyone who has gotten this procedure before could help me out with the below questions? I would truly appreciate it!

1. I really LOVE my hair. I don't need any extensions etc. and it's very thick. Will this procedure change what my hair looks and feels like drastically? Will I notice it? Will others notice it?

2. Also, I'm nervous about the large scars on the side of the head. Will these stand out when my hair is down? What about when it is up? I don't want anyone to be able to notice these. I don't want to decrease attention from my forehead just to increase attention to scars. I feel that defeats the purpose and at least no one really notices my forehead.. scars stick out and are very attention grabbing.

3. Are there any difficulties after having this surgery? Can you style your hair the same? I love hot rolling my hair and want to continue to do so.

4. Overall was it worth it for you? Do you think it would be worth it for me since I'm very picky about how my hair looks?

Again, I appreciate everyone's help! I want to get it done really badly.. I just want to be able to have the smaller forehead and have my hair how it is now too...

Thank you! My forehead is currently at 8cm and I am thinking of lowering 2-2.5 cm.

It's worth it! Dr. Kabaker is the guru of this surgery and is retiring next year. If this is a procedure you're looking to get done, get it done by the master who teaches the art of this surgery.

DON'T DO IT! You have gorgeous hair. Yes you will have a smaller forehead but your hair will no longer be thick and there will always be a scar. I had it done with Dr. Kabaker back in 4/2015. I miss my thick bouncy hair... Yes Dr Kabaker and his team are experts but they can't do anything about your hair or scar. It's the nature of the surgery. Best of luck!

The crown of my head got thinner and near the scar. Dr. Kabaker suggested using minoxidil and I started it a month after the surgery. I was very diligent but I think it only helped about 20%. I stopped using it a couple of months ago because I didn't see a huge improvement and was tired of wasting my time and money. As for the texture it's not as luster. It's not as shiny and looks dull. I can't explain it but I know it's not the same. This is my experience but maybe you will have better results. Just do it if it will make you happy =)

Hi There! When u live with a feature on your face you can't hide and u realize there are options to make a change its always mess'n w ur mind to do or not to do. Do ur research follow your gutt. We all scar different and our hair may have a reaction or may not. As for the possible scar, I think during ur recovery, if u see a scar keloiding ask ur ps for a cortizone shot on it. I think that helps reduce it significantly. As for your hair, I have a friend that started to use Rogain and now finds she always has to use it or suffer hair loss w/o it. With ur hair line lowering u may not even need to work w a void. Yes, ur hair is gorgeous! Your facial features are pretty as well. W this specialist near retirement, I probably would move forward. I wish u smooth and pretty results. Hugs!

Thank you for the feedback! Some days I decide I'm going to I for it and then I freak out about possibly ruining my hair. :/ I have to decide like next week because that's when my balance is due. All this feedback is definitely helped my so I appreciate you taking the time to write a response :) ugh I'm just going to flip a coin!!! :/

If u chose not to u will live wondering. Just remember we all heal different and our results never r exactly like someone else. Ultimately, go with ur gutt, what will make YOU happy. A hairline is not all that makes a beautiful spirit in everyone shine. Saying this, I know plastic surgeons don't have magic wands so just say a prayer and live happy w all u do!!

I recently meet a young women who had a high/big forehead I thought she looked beautiful, I liked the difference, and told her so, she was not trying to hide it at all. In fact she was stunning. But I know what it is like to be so unhappy with some aspects of
our appearance so just take your time with making your decision. All the very best.
