I've always been very self-conscious of my forehead. I always wear bangs and I fear getting in the water in public because it will show my forehead. I'm sick of being confined to one hairstyle! I can't wait to not have bangs and not be embarrassed of my full face! So excited. The other reviews and photos I've seen with Dr. Kabaker look amazing! If anyone on here has gone through with this surgery I'd appreciate any words :)

Did you have your surgery? My daughter had hers 6 weeks ago and I am having mine next month. We did not have Dr Kabaker though
July 29, 2016
Mine is next month. How did your daughters turn out? Is she happy with it? I'm nervous! Who is your dr?
August 14, 2016
Yes very happy. She looks amazing. She had dr. Aharonov
July 29, 2016
goodluck:) i feel like we're in this together! your surgery date is not too far away from mine.
July 29, 2016
And same to you! I know we're in it together for sure! Ha. Keep me posted
August 13, 2016
that was my comment up there, just new profile. i had the surgery done and am already rocking my new forehead! it's the best thing i've ever done for myself. it's like a big burden has been lifted off my shoulders and i know you will feel the same way too! best wishes to you, i know your surgery is in a few days:)
August 13, 2016
Thank you so much! I'm so happy for you! Has anyone noticed? How many cm did you take out? I'd love to see some pics!
August 14, 2016
thank you! and i think some ppl can tell that SOMETHING is a little bit different about my face but no one has yet to make a comment about my forehead. it looks very natural imo. i was about 7.5-8cm and now i measure 5cm! :) Dr Kabaker is amazing. at first i was scared it was TOO low but i trusted that Dr Kabaker had good judgement and honestly, it is perfect. he will help you find a good balance depending on your scalp laxity. do you know how low you want to go?
August 14, 2016
I wasn't to be either 5.75 or 6 I think? I'm currently 8cm. I'll just have to show him what I like and see what his opinion is and how he can manipulate my hairline. I'm just ready to do it, I've been like obsessing in the mirror everyday about what it might look like! Lol
August 14, 2016
Want it * correction from above
August 14, 2016
I bet your results look stunning!
August 14, 2016
haha! i was just like that a few days before my surgery. always looking in the mirror like, "wow, okay i'm really going to do this." and then i did! it was the easiest thing in world to me. you will see:) after it was done, i even took an uber to my hotel. the next day i took public transportation back to his office. i would do the whole thing over again! are you coming from out of town?
August 14, 2016
Ha! Good to know! I'm coming from Reno, NV. So not very far! Thanks for your encouraging words, fingers crossed!
August 15, 2016
Just curious, what kind of bandage did he put on you the second day?
August 17, 2016
on the second day, they put a thick foam pad-like thing across your stitches, & then if i can remember correctly- they wrap a strip of bandage over it and under the chin. the first day bandage is going to be alottttt thicker. i decided to bring a scarf with me the day of surgery & cover my head with it, which helped when being in public.
August 17, 2016
Thanks for the info! I go tomorrow at 8:15! Eeeeek

August 18, 2016
Thank you ladies! I feel great so far! Loved all the nurses and Dr Kabaker! Felt like I was in great hands. I'll post more this week:)
July 29, 2016
Compared to my own forehead yours looks beautiful and normal the way it is without surgery, in my opinion. But I completely understand how it can limit one's life and lower self-esteem... I have struggled with it my entire life. I am sick of people asking me "why is your forehead so big?" and their gaze shifting from my eyes to my forehead during a conversation. Or, like you said, feeling very self-conscious about going swimming, or when the wind blows and makes me look bald... even simply laying down on my bed makes me uncomfortable because my hair falls back to reveal my humongous forehead. I really understand the struggle.

I am also considering having this surgery done but am scared about how it would turn out because I have thin hair (yay...), especially at the front. You seem to have pretty thick hair so concealing the scar should be easy :) I applaud you for taking this brave step and hope the new hairline turns out to be exactly how you want it. Please keep us up to date with how everything goes. Good luck!!
July 29, 2016
Thank you, you're very sweet! But trust me I have a bad hairline and it looks like I'm balding on the sides :( I can relate to what you said, I hate when the wind blows, going camping etc. because I can't put my bangs over my face! I'm ready to be free of all of that. I'm sure your beautiful! I think we are harder on ourselves than we should be ya know? Have you talked to Dr Kabaker? You should do a Skype consult with him and see what he says! I'll keep everyone posted on my progress and results! Thank you for the encouraging comment and best of luck with looking into this procedure! Take care
July 30, 2016
If you have thin hair at the front, you can have hair grafts implanted at a later stage after your forehead reduction to make the hairline fuller. I also have thin hair at the front. I'm doing this surgery in September, here in South Africa. I am excited and nervous all at the same time.

I agree that many of us are hard on ourselves, but it is difficult not to feel that way in a superficial culture. I wish I was strong enough not to care about what anyone else thinks about my alien forehead... but unfortunately I do care. I will definitely weigh all the options and maybe even have the surgery. I have not contacted Dr. Kabaker yet, is the Skype consultation free of charge? I live in Europe, so his clinic is very far away. Thanks, I look forward to hearing how your surgery went :) Take care.
August 1, 2016
Journey2happiness, good luck to you also with your surgery! I will consider both hair transplants and this surgery, maybe a combination of both. I am mostly worried about the scar and hair loss... I cannot afford to lose any more hair or I will look like Gollum O.o
August 1, 2016
This is what I am worried about: https://www.realself.com/review/san-francisco-ca-forehead-lift-beware-hairline-lowering-procedure?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=NLU2XWeekPMT%202016-07-19&utm_source=Sailthru&rsuid=2494894&utm_term=GlobalNLNormalUnpop Not sure if this link works. It is a review by a person who had this procedure done by Dr. Kabaker and it did not turn out well because her scalp became too tight as a consequence. I guess I would rather have my hairline lowered just a little bit than going close to the maximum and have a tight scalp and massive hair loss because of that. I do not mean to scare you or say that Dr. Kabaker is incompetent, obviously he's done many very successful surgeries. But if I was about to have this surgery, I would want to know as much as possible, so I thought I would share this review. Xx
August 3, 2016
May be of interest that the person had a prior scar she was trying to cover. Did she have a prior surgery? Not enough information to base an opinion of Dr. Kabaker on. Just my thoughts.
July 31, 2016
Ya mine is higher, wider, and has a big "ledge." Think Frankenstein with a tiny girl face. Always thick bangs. Since I was one or two yrs old. I'd be happy with yours too, like the other girl said, at least what I see in the barrette pic's. But mine is extreme. Two different types of large foreheads married and made me. Ha. But I know it's hard to tell from pics that don't show the whole face so I'm sure you're feelings are valid. I'm just saying this because at first I thought they were after photos. I'm looking into working with this same doctor also. I can't wait to see before and after photos. This website is so great. I never knew this existed till I found this. And I never knew anyone else felt this way. Not sports. No swimming. No wind. My face is too tiny for hats. Ugh. Same hairstyle for decades. Still so nervous he won't be able to take it down enough to be worth the money and possible scaring or embarrassment when people notice. I don't really hang with a plastic surgery crowd. But it would be my dream come true. Would be great to see your whole face for scale. Maybe you can blur out your eyes and stuff. Thanks! I hope you have a speedy recovery.

"Two different types of large foreheads married and made me." Haha, that is exactly how I feel.. both of my parents have high foreheads and I even inherited monkey-like eyebrow bones, which in certain type of light shadows the rest of my face and makes me look (and feel) like an alien. Yay!

HI,
I had my surgery about 2 years ago. BEST. DECISION. EVER!!!! OMG, I cannot tell you how much better life in general has gotten. Less time fiddling with my hair, no more baseball caps, and I can swim with confidence. Never in a million years would I have gone out in public with my hair completely pulled up in a bun, and now I just love to be able to do that. I had a 'downs baby' head, according to my sister, and was always self conscious. Not any more. My Dr. did a fantastic job. Never felt any pain, and scars are completely invisible. I know you will love it, please post pics!! I'm so excited for you!!
August 6, 2016
Thank you so much for your encouraging words! I feel so good about going through with this after hearing from everyone on here :) and I'm so happy for your wonderful results! I can't wait to not fuss over my hair like you were saying. It will just be easier all the way around! I'll keep you posted on the results, thanks again, I'm super excited! Take care

I'm going to see Dr K in October for same procedure. Did you go home the next day? In debating whether I should fly back to NY on the first or second day after surgery. Any other info like which hotel you chose, etc. would be very appreciated. Thanks.
August 20, 2016
I drove home the next day to Reno. If I were you I wouldn't fly the next day. I felt pretty good but flying back to New York might be much. I stayed in alameda at an extended stay!
August 21, 2016
Wow, you and your forehead look gorgeous! :) Do you still feel weird about it? Thanks so much for your advice and I'll fly home 2 days after. I was a little worried about flying back in case I had a bad headache or something post-op, esp. as I'll be alone. Would you recommend the Alameda hotel? I don't know the San Francisco area. The cheapest hotel recommended on Dr. K's site on Jack London Square for $129 a night plus tax, and I'll be there 4 nights total so it does add up. Thanks so much again!! xx
August 20, 2016
So glad it went well for you! Hope you have a speedy recovery :) I have booked mine now for October........so long to wait but looking forward to seeing your results x
August 20, 2016
Thank you! I'll post photos soon :)

How many cm did you have lowered?

Looks great! Xo I'm having this surgery in about two weeks in Chicago!
August 22, 2016
Thank you! So excited for you, you'll love it!
August 21, 2016
Thank you!!! My hotel was like $135 per night but in a great area! Extended stay in alameda on marina parkway. I'm so excited for you! Will you be going alone?

love it! how many cm did he take out?
August 20, 2016
I think 2.1 in the middle and 2.3 on the sides? I'm feeling weird about it, did you feel weird at all after yours? Like I'm not used to it yet!
August 20, 2016
not to worry, i felt weird about it afterward too. but i'm 2 weeks post now & feel very comfortable w/ the way it looks. i'm already wearing my hair back in a ponytail exposing my forehead. it's a great feeling.
August 20, 2016
Ok thank you! It is going to take some getting used to! Glad to hear that :)
