30 Year old male scheduled for a hairline...
30 Year old male scheduled for a hairline reduction surgery with Dr. Sheldon Kabaker.
I had no idea this surgery even existed up until a few months ago when I came across this site. I choose Dr Kabaker due to all of his positive reviews and his experience as a pioneer with this surgery. As soon as I saw he was retiring soon I booked my appointment that very day.
This procedure is mostly done on women because they don't experience hair loss like most men. However, at my age, history of no male pattern baldness and my scalp laxity; Dr. Kabaker determined I would be a good candidate for this surgery.
I am beyond excited for this surgery. It is going to change my life for the better. I was born with a very large forehead and have been self conscious of it since middle school. Many of my other large forehead suffers know the pain of hiding it under bangs or hats. I hope my journey through this surgery will inspire others to get it done just like they have for me. Aaaaaand I'm all done! Day 1 post surgery.
It's been about 24 hour since I had the surgery and I wanted to post a quick update:-) I'm meeting with him later today to take off the bandages to get my first peek!
Everything went very smooth and quick! I arrived at 8am to meet with the Kabaker and the team again to go over the last minute details and questions. Which also meant drawing the incision lines on my forehead. The surgery itself is done right there in his office, he has an operating room.
The surgery is performed under twilight sedation so you are asleep during the procedure but can walk out the office right after it's over. It all went so quick, after they put the IV in me I woke up and was done. One of their staff members even gave me a ride back to my hotel. I was in no pain and had a little wobble in my step and that's it. I had left after 4 hours.
I was able to eat a full meal and was not nauseous when I get back. After some bed rest in the hotel I noticed some pain started kick in, a headache obviously. So I've taken 2 pain pills since the surgery to stymie the pain. I went to sleep last night feeling like I had a very bad hangover headache. But now that I've gotten about 12 hours of sleep I fell much better! Wish me luck today! I think this will be the most nervous part to see the results!

It all came down to this. My morning follow up appointment with Dr. Kabaker. They took of my bandages and handed me the mirror.... The moment of truth! I had to take a few deep breaths before I took a peek at the new me. Was it all going to be worth it, wash away the insecurities, meet expectations?
.... The answer is a resounding YES!! I am so flipping happy right now. He was able to take off almost 3cm off my 'dome:-) I measured it before at 9cm and now it's down to 6. I made sure to give him a hearty hand shake and a big thank you!
